Audrey Roberts from Coronation Street might be in trouble when she talks to the son of the person who hurt her, Stephen Reid, about the bad things he did. But Audrey does not know that Stephen has special powers, and she’s planning to catch him.
We’re not sure what Audrey feels about her kids. Sometimes, we hear that she did not treat them well when they were young and does not assist them when they’re in trouble. Audrey had Stephen when she was young and had to let someone else take care of him. He came back from Canada this year.
She never got along with Gail’s former stepmother, Ivy Brennan, and her relationship with Don became strained after Ivy’s death. He has no blood ties to his family and doesn’t understand why Audrey would need to come back to visit Gail’s children, even though he has been Gail’s grandfather for many years.
Who is Audrey Roberts?
Audrey Roberts (her maiden name was Potter) is Gail Rodwell’s mom, and she owns a place called Trim Up North on Victoria Street. She was the third wife of a man named Alf Roberts, who used to work in the council and have a shop. Later, she became his widow when he passed away.
Audrey was born in 1940 and was given responsibilities from an early age. She gave birth to her first child, Stephen, at the age of 16, and she gave birth to Gail a year later. Her children had different fathers, and neither played any role in their upbringing.
While Stephen was taken in by the Reids family and raised in Canada, Audrey raised Gail single-handedly, although Gail often played a second-class role in her mother’s social life.
After years of dating shallow men who cheated on her, Audrey married Alf in 1985 in search of someone more reliable. Alf thought he had acquired an extra hand in the corner shop, but Audrey’s main concern was convincing her stingy husband to part with his hard-earned money.
She also benefited from Alf’s positions as a Weatherfield councilor and mayor, where she served as mayor. Alf died of a heart attack on New Year’s Day 1999 during Audrey’s grandson Nick Tisley’s 18th birthday party.
Who Plays Audrey?
Audrey is played by the highly successful actress Sue Nicholls. Sue was born on November 23, 1943, and is 78 years old, three years younger than Audrey.
Sue had already starred in Crossroads and had a popular single when she landed the role of Audrey. While on Corrie, Sue appeared in Rent a Ghost, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, and The Professionals.
Is Audrey Missing?
The ITV drama has confirmed that Stephen’s mother, Audrey Roberts, is missing after confronting her criminal son on Wednesday night. Some secrets about his crimes are revealed, and Audrey confronts him, but she knows nothing about the murders he committed, nor does she know that Tim is missing, if not dead.
Audrey goes missing after Stephen turns against her, and the Platts family fears for her safety. Actress Sue, who has played Audrey since 1979, hinted at a dark scene, saying that in a sad twist, Audrey could become Stephen’s next and final murder victim. While teasing what’s in store, she confirmed that Audrey could be in serious danger.
Is it True Audrey is Leaving Corrie?
No, Audrey won’t break up with Cory. She never left, and she never will. However, official spoilers reveal that Audrey will struggle to cope with the pressure, and a new theory could see Audrey taking a step back from her life in Weatherfield.
Coronation Street icon Sue Nicholls has sparked fears for the safety of Audrey Roberts as she faces serial killer son Stephen Reid tonight.
Over the course of a few months, Stephen committed a series of crimes, including three murders, drugging his boss, Carla Connor, with LSD, and stealing all of his mother’s property.
But this week, his crimes start to be solved, and tonight, Wednesday, October 11th, Audrey finds out what he did to her house and confronts him about his actions.
The news came as a shock to Audrey, who had never doubted her golden son, and Sue, 79, confirmed this by saying of his character: He heard these things that he was alleged to have done.
