In the previous chapter of Trash of the Count’s Family, Cale and his friends go to the Rainforest three weeks after they wrap up things with the Mage Tower. The Rainforest was one of the five mysteries of the Western Continent, like the Dark Forest, where it rained all year round.
Once a person got lost in the Forest, they could never return. Near the Rainforest, the people created a village while waiting for their loved ones who went inside the Forest, only for them to turn to despair and put down tombstones in the memory of their friends or family.
Cale and his friends move to the nearest inn to dry off and warm themselves up. One of them asks why the people were going inside the Forest if so many people had gotten lost, and Cale explains the legend about the place.
