Food Network’s sophomore season of Halloween Cookie Challenge, a show that airs in autumn to hype All Hallow’s Eve, is here. In this show, talented pastry bakers make scary-looking, gory dishes that seem unedible but use the best techniques and ingredients to resurrect cookies.
The debut episode of the season had us drooling from all the good stuff that these talented bakers made for the judges. It’s a shame TV hasn’t advanced as far as to let us reach through the screen and grab a bite, because after you see what these chefs make, you’d wish you’d get your hands on some.
Halloween Cookie Challenge Season 2 Episode 1 Recap
The debut episode of the season had four bakers: Arlene Chua, Joshua Suarez, Rebecca Duggar, and Kim Fink. They had two different tasks. The first one was to bake something that was both creepy and cute. And Rebecca outshined the competition by baking a spellbook.
The baker who did the worst was Kim, who got the boot after baking a spider that wasn’t carefully designed and was not baked properly.
The final part had Rebecca shining again because she made a bunny and turned it into a scary-looking voodoo doll stuffed with yummy, delicious filling that included black cherries and sweet jam.
As for Arlene and Joshua, their desserts were rather dull, and the judges didn’t pay much attention to them, because Rebecca was the star of the night with her voodoo doll and creepy spellbook.
