The story of The Worst Evil is set in 1990s Seoul Gangnam; Popular DJ Jung Ki Chul, positioned among the gangsters in Gangnam, starts selling the rarest drug. To stop the widespread of drugs, the Japanese police and Korean police plan a secret mission.
For this mission, they chose rural police Park Jun Mu with a promise to him a promotion. Park Jun Mu disguised himself and sneaked into the organization. However, things get tough for him when his wife, Yoo Eui Jung, who is also a high-ranking police officer, gets involved with the organization. He must protect his wife and carry on the mission, too.
The Worst of Evil: Recap
In the first three episodes of The Worst of Evil, fans got pretty much an overview of the main characters and how their fate intervened and challenged them at every step of life. Jung Ki Chul, who is the popular DJ of bars and disco of 1990s Gangnam, is now the main head of the Seoul gang and runs a drug trafficking chain in secret.
On the other hand, Park Jun Mu is a normal rural police who is often mocked by his in-laws for being at a lower rank in the police than his own wife, Yoo Eui Jung. He agrees to carry on the secret mission to arrest and leak the biggest drug chain, which is spreading all over South Korea, Japan, and even some parts of China.
However, he agrees to go on the mission in return for his promotion, which is delayed because of his father having a criminal background. He disguises himself as Jung Ki Chul’s best friend Tae Ho’s brother. Tae Ho died a year ago and his brother is now back to get revenge for his murder.
Jung Ki Chul does his own background check on Tae Ho’s brother and believes Park Jun Mu is Tae Ho’s real cousin. However, Jung Ki Chul is impressed by his fighting skills and his determination to kill Tae Ho’s murderer. He offers him to join his organization.
Everything goes as planned by Park Jun Mu, he joins the organization without any suspicion. But things get worse when Ki Chul’s own men backstab him, and Yoo Eui Jung seems to be acquainted with Ki Chul, which puts Park Jun Mu in tension.
