3. Encounter (2018)
Next up on our list is a K-drama that shows the complicated courtship between two isolated characters, just like “Young Lady and Gentlemen.” There is even a Filipino remake of this drama with the same title, “Encounter.”
The story introduces two opposite characters, Cha Soo Hyun and Kim Jin Hyuk. Cha Soo Hyun is the only daughter of a politician who lives her life following the path his father has made for her. Patriarchy rules in their home, and no one can act on their own.
After completing her graduation from college, she was forced into a loveless marriage with the only son of a wealthy family in the town, which could benefit her father’s political career in the future. But soon after, she gets divorced and starts leading a simple life.
Then, she encountered an ordinary yet poetic man, Kim Jin Hyuk, who is innocent and likes to lead a nostalgic life. He finds happiness even in the tiny things around him.

4. My Only One (2018)
My Only One, also known as My Beautiful Side, is the most similar drama to “Young Lady and Gentlemen”. This K-drama also follows the typical storyline of Korean serials where the female lead is poor, and the male lead is chaebol.
My Only One follows the story of poor girl Do-ran, whose mother died shortly after her death, and her father was jailed for 28 years for murder. Amidst deciding who will take care of Do-ran, her father’s friend adopted her and raised her as well as her daughter.
But Do-Ran’s foster mother and sister were always envious of her. Her foster mother never regarded Do-Ran as her daughter.
Things get worse when Do-Ran’s foster father passes away, and his property is inherited by the foster mother and sister. They thrash out Do-Ran from the house.
Poor Do-Ran manages to find a studio apartment and a job at a renowned food company of the wealthy Wong Family. The story of the drama takes a romantic turn when the elder son of the Wang family, who is also the director of the company, starts having romantic feelings for Do-ran.
The drama revolves around the suffering and prevails of a helpless girl with no parental support fighting in the real world to meet her needs end. Also, the problem she faces is just to live a happy life with her love because of the societal hierarchy.

The drama opens up with an introduction to the female lead, Kang Hye-soo, who is a single mother and struggling in her life to pay off his husband’s debt. On top of that, she discovers she has brain tumors and has a very short life. Her life takes a new turn when a new boss comes to their office.
