‘An Hour of Romance’ is an ongoing rom-com manhwa, first released in 2020. Interestingly, although the manhwa is mainly known as a rom-com manhwa, it falls into other odd genres such as ‘Gender Bender’ and ‘Supernatural.’ If we take a deep look into the work, the storytelling does not only have a comedy-like ambiance but is also deep in some of the chapters.
The story of ‘An Hour of Romance’ follows two characters, Jooahn and Dojin, and their romantic relationship. To summarise the whole thing, Jooahn and her partner Dojin are not very likely when it comes to work.

Recap and Review of An Hour of Romance Chapters 163 and 164
‘An Hour of Romance’ is no doubt a rom-com manhwa, but it has deep storytelling where it gives a glimpse of reality. Such an example can be seen in chapters 163 and 164. In these chapters, we see Jooahn and Jooyoung having a conversation in some kind of Limbo.
The two sisters seem to be discussing what makes a person commit suicide. Jooyoung starts by giving Jooahn a talk about different people and how she seems to be the former. She tells Jooahn that while some people have reason to take their lives while others just don’t, it’s just a matter of a switch that they have to flip.
Jooyoung is a quiet girl who looks depressed, but from this chapter, we know that the two sisters had a difficult childhood. Since their childhood, Jooyoung decided that she wouldn’t ever be a burden to anyone and would always put others’ needs first. Even when she watched other people be happy, she could not contemplate the reason due to her depressed nature.
Later, we came to know that Jooyoung decided to study psychology and work at a suicide prevention center so she could feel similar to people and help them look the other way. But the turning point in her life was when she had an unplanned pregnancy and almost got married.
Sadly, she had a miscarriage, but after that incident, she felt relief as a burden had been left off her shoulders and ultimately committed suicide.
Jooahn became emotional to know that her sister had been in such a rough time. But even after her death, Jooyoung kept watching her and ultimately assured her not to worry about her and to move on with her life.
