The chapter opens up with Argon asking Canna if she was bullied by Lilian in the past because he heard that she even cried from it. Canna wonders why Argon wants to know such a thing and if it is because of the discussion they had at the banquet.
Canna tells Argon that she was bullied while thinking that he would try to defend Lilian. Argon doesn’t defend Lilian, but he says something even worse. He smiles and says that he wished he had been there when Canna was bullied because he would have loved to see the face she made. Argon further adds that he wishes to have such an opportunity in the future, and then he goes back to quietly reading his book.
Canna gets confused because of the weird conversation she just had. She recalls the rumors she heard in the past about Argon being a freak, but she wonders if that is just because he’s weird. Suddenly the cart bumps into an obstacle which causes Canna to lose her balance. Argon catches her and prevents her head from hitting the wall.
The Driver stops the cart and apologizes to Argon and Canna. He then asks them to get out of the cart for some time as he would need to fix the broken tire. Canna steps into the mud as soon as she gets out, and so Argon asks her if she would be okay if he picked her up. Canna knowingly splashes the mud even more and refuses the offer.
Argon says that he always gets surprised by Canna, and she replies that she just prefers to handle things on her own. Argon grins a little and says that she disappointed him. Canna turns to look at him and finds that he has killed the driver. At this moment, Canna realizes that the rumors are true and that this man is indeed a psychopath. Argon then strikes Canna’s hand and gives her a little scratch.
Argon then asks her if she knows what he can do with her right now. Canna gets scared because she wonders if this psychopath is going to kill her next. Argon smiles and asks Canna once again if she needs his help or if she still believes that she can do things on her own. Unable to see the extent of Argon’s craziness, Canna agrees to get his help because she wants to survive no matter what.
Argon whistles and calls for his subordinates to fix the cart and dispose of the dead body. Argon then holds Canna’s hand and takes her to the cart with a smile on his face. Canna wonders if he’s so insane that he had to kill someone just to do this. After a while, Canna and Argon finally reach the royal palace, and Argon leaves Canna there because he has some business with the empress.
Canna gets her scratch healed, and then she goes to check up on Amelia. She feels a bit at ease because she’s now away from Argon, but she will never forget this weird encounter. Canna then focuses on treating the princess, and so she starts inspecting her medicine. Canna looks at the bottle of medicine and gets shocked.
