The Reunion, the newest mystery series from ITV, is undoubtedly challenging to watch but intriguing. With plenty of flashbacks, present-day scenes, and revelations, the ITVX original series has kept the drama coming with each new episode.
The program investigates the disappearance of Vinca Rockwell, who vanished one chilly night while the campus of her school on the French Riviera was shut down by snowfall.
However, when her three old pals are reunited at their school reunion 25 years later, they not only come face to face with one another but also learn a devastating truth they had been keeping for a long time.
But the underlying mystery at the center of the drama is, were any of them engaged in Vinca’s disappearance or guilty of it?

The Reunion ITV Ending Explained
The climax begins with Annabelle (Dervla Kirwan) visiting Deville (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), the principal of St. Ex, at her residence and disclosing that Deville is the enigmatic Alexis who uses her first name as a nickname. Annabelle makes a call to Manon (Shemss Audat) to stay on the line and find out the truth regarding Vinca’s fate.
According to Thomas (Ioan Gruffudd), who serves as the narrator, Deville coerced Ahmed into telling her about the body that was buried in the school gym because she was determined to learn what happened to Vinca.
Francis (Cosimo Fusco) was suggested to her by Ahmed, but he resisted her persuasion and argued that he killed Clement even though Thomas and Max were actually to blame. Deville killed Francis without getting any closer to discovering what happened when Vinca vanished.
In flashbacks, Vinca’s first day at the school is revealed to have left a lasting impression on Deville. Vinca developed a close relationship with Thomas, Fanny, and Max before becoming overcome with grief and considering jumping from a bridge.
Deville helped Vinca escape the cliff since she needed a friend and showed up just in time. Later, we learn that Vinca kept the news of her parents’ passing a secret since her friends from her previous school were unable to handle her feelings. Her parents had perished in a car accident, and she didn’t want anybody to know.
Vinca and Deville grew close over time, and Deville tells Vinca that her “favorite people” refer to her as Alexis. Thomas acknowledges that he completely misread Vinca’s circumstances since he was so overcome with envy. Vinca was said to be dating a teacher, but no one knew it was Deville; Thomas believed it was Clement.
Vinca and Deville desire to be together outside of school after learning about the rumors surrounding Vinca’s romantic relationship and Deville tells Vinca about a plan she has.
Deville tries to convince Vinca, who is 18 years old, that having a kid would be beneficial for them even though she doesn’t want one. Deville confronts Annabelle about her choice to stay with Richard while being aware of his liaison with Vinca in the present.
Being one of the few persons to whom Vinca had intimated her pregnancy, Clement was a shoulder for Vinca to cry on in the past, not her teacher-turned-lover. Thomas misinterpreted the relationship between the two after observing them hugging, which finally caused him to believe Clement had sexually assaulted Vinca and started their argument.
After the funeral, we learn that Thomas finds it difficult to accept the fact that Vinca died on that night 25 years ago. And in the past, when Francis had laid Vinca on the gym floor, we could see that she stirred.
Thomas is contemplating Vinca and her child starting a new life somewhere else as he is being driven back to his house on the French Riviera.
But when he turns to look at the driver in the rearview mirror, we can see that it’s Pauline, or could it be Vinca? Although this notion was never developed in the drama, the fact that the same actor plays both characters suggests that Pauline might be Vinca’s daughter.
The only thing separating the two figures was a red bob, but with the cab driver’s hood up and them closely observing Thomas as he exits, it might be Vinca.
