Another thing to note is that their relationship is not built on their feelings for each other. More like it’s built on the lack of them. Tanabata tells us that the only reason she is with him is because he is inferior to her in all aspects. And because of that, she doesn’t feel any jealousy or insecurity in their relationship. She describes her boyfriend as worthless. That being said it seems that she genuinely appreciates that he is in her life.
She often proclaims how her life is better since he is in her life. She takes joy in degrading him within an inch of his life only to see his reactions. She does apologize if she goes too far though. They recently went on their first night out as a couple to a hot spring. It was about as pleasant as you can expect. And we finally got to see the boyfriend’s face. Not the whole face just an abstract version of it from one side.

She continues to tease him a bit more ad then tells him that he has to do a punishment game for looking at other girls.
