Previous Chapter 14 of The Priest of Corruption begins with the strange, unexpected meeting of Priest Marnak and his mother. He didn’t expect to meet his mother in a lonely place like this but was glad he met her after a while. Priest Marnak is happy and moves toward his mother.
He expresses his happiness about finally getting to meet her. But his mother shows no sign of excitement — like she doesn’t know him. Of course, she was kidding. And it was expected.
Priest Marnak gently rubbed his mother’s face and said, “He knew it was you.” It shows the bond between mother and son. And this Chapter 14 of The Priest of Corruption most of the time focuses on this bond.
His mother says, “Why am I inside a child’s body?” To which Marnak replies, “Shouldn’t you know that, mother?” His mother already knows the reason but still asks her son. And this curse can harm anyone from big to small — anyone who comes near it will slowly rot. Killing people help Preist Marnak to gain divinity, which he doesn’t want.
Holy Relic, with his mother-sealed divinity, got broken into two pieces. He has a small conversation with his mother on Holy Relic and asks several questions about it. Priest Market fell to the ground as we saw that his mother’s body had already reached its limit.
