Tubi tends to come out with thrillers quite frequently, and this time, the platform decided to experiment with a much more unique theme through the movie Deadly DILF. The one-and-a-half-hour-long film starring Curtis Hamilton and Sofia Bryant in the main roles premiered on July 20th, 2023.
The plot of the film revolves around Elysium, a young college student who ends up losing her father after being attacked by a strange man.
Just as she’s recovering from the loss, Elysium notices that a new family has moved in next door. After getting acquainted, Elysium develops an interest in Rio, but the attraction soon leads to dangerous consequences for both of them.
While the plot and storyline aren’t too deep, Deadly DILF does have good actors and filming styles. Asides from Curtis as Rio and Sofia as Elysium, the rest of the cast of this thriller film consists of Naomi Walley as Tori, Jeryl Prescott as Sofia’s aunt Kendra, Zach Sowers as Jake, and Jonathan Tanigaki as Chris.
Deadly DILF: The Plot
The movie begins with Elysium jogging in the night air only to find herself being chased by an unknown man who has his face hidden. She manages to reach her home just in time, but her dad tries to go after the man. Since the stalker had a gun, he accidentally ended up firing at her father, killing him instantly.
Elysium is distraught and suffers from PTSD. Her aunt takes over as her guardian and one day informs her about a new family that has decided to move in next door.
The family of three consists of Rio, the husband; Tori, the wife; and Gunnar, Rio’s child from a previous marriage. While they’re playing in the backyard, their ball ends up going into Elysium’s house.
That’s when she introduces herself to the family and starts to find Rio attractive. Rio feels the same when he first meets her but doesn’t think of it too much. Elysium, however, tries her best to spend time with him, and to her surprise, Rio joins her college to complete his undergrad.
One night, Elysium is chased by another man once again, causing her to go into panic and rush to Rio’s home since her Aunt is out for the night. Rio takes her in and helps her calm down, but one thing leads to another, and they end up spending the night together.
The next day, Rio immediately hates what he did and tries to get Elysium to forget about it, this causes her to be angry, and she plans to destroy his marriage to have him for herself. Elysium first sabotages Rio’s life by vandalizing his car, then moves on to his son, Gunnar.
To get Elysium to back off, Rio calls in Jake’s help to get a drug that he could mix in Elysium’s water bottle. This makes her coach kick her out of the team even though she is a scholarship student. Jake, Rio’s brother, knows what happened and tries to stop Elysium, only to die accidentally in a trap she set up.
Gunnar is taken away by CPS (which is most likely Elysium’s work), and Rio has a breakdown, following which he tries to kill Elysium. Tori, who had left Rio after accusing him of cheating, does her best to stop Rio from committing the crime. After running out onto the road, Tori tries to chase after Elysium and Rio, only to get hit by Aunt Kendra’s car and pass away.
Deadly DILF: Ending Explained
By the end of Deadly DILF, we see that Rio is now at a jail-like facility after losing everything that he valued in his life. As for Elysium, she sits and talks to her father’s grave while eating a no-crust peanut butter sandwich that her dad used to make for her. She reveals that she has done terrible things, and the movie ends soon after.
Although the movie never shows how Rio ends up in jail, we’re just made to assume that his life is now completely ruined. He probably went to jail for attempting to murder Elysium.
The movie doesn’t make sense quite a few times, such as why the man in the hoodie was attacking Elysium and why it was her ex-boyfriend the second time.
Another plot hole was Elysium trying to murder Rio by setting up a trap for him in the shed. She was doing her best to win over Rio’s mind and heart, so doing that doesn’t sit right in the storyline. Elysium’s mental health is not addressed as well, but her having lost her dad could have been the reason she was attracted to Rio, as she developed daddy issues.
Overall, it was an okay film from Tubi Originals with a Fatal Attraction sort of storyline. The title makes it seem like it is Rio, the dad, that was going to be the antagonist, but it is Elysium who is willing to destroy a marriage just for her temporary pleasure.
At present, Deadly DILF is available to watch on Tubi TV.
