GWSN was a former girl group, also known as Girls in the Park. The group had seven members Miya, Anne, Minju, SoSo, Lena, Seoryoung, and Seokyoung. The group made their debut on the 5th of September in 2018, with their mini album titled ‘THE PARK IN THE NIGHT part one’, under Kiwi Pop, which is a company under Kiwi Media Group. The company was later renamed The Wave Music.
The members of the group filed to terminate their contract with The Wave Music, and it was announced that they won their first trial on the 22nd of January, 2023. Their contract with The Wave Music was terminated by Seoul Central District Court. It was later announced in June of 2023 that the group was disbanded in January of 2023 when they filed for the termination of the contract. The announcement was made by their member, Miya.
The Members of GWSN
GWSN had seven members Miya, Anne, Minju, SoSo, Lena, Seoryoung, and Seokyoung. The members were there with the group till their disbandment in 2023.
Seoryoung
Lee Seo Ryoung featured as Seoryoung in the group GWSN was the main vocalist and the leader of the group. Her name was Lee Seo Young, but she later legalized it to Lee Seo Ryoung. Seoryoung was born on the 26th of January in the year 2000. She is from Masan, South Korea. She studied at Masan Euishin Girls’ Middle School and Masan Jeil Girls’ High School.
Seoryoung also released a song called ‘Color Me’ with Highlight’s Dongwoon. She studies Japanese and can also play guitar. She became a part of GWSN through a national audition tour.
Miya
Miyauchi Haruka, featured as Miya in GWSN, was the main dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist of the group. Miya was born on 26th May 1993 in Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. She studied at Mukaida Elementary School and Higashi Middle School. She joined the Acopia Lifelong Education Center and was recruited in Kiwi Pop from there.
Miya was a part of the VIXX cover group called Baxx Debut. Miya has officially joined a Japanese agency called Master Lights and is going to debut as an actor and soloist in Japan.
Seokyoung
Kim Seo Kyoung, featured as Seokyoung, was the main dancer, vocalist, and rapper of the group GWSN. She was born on the 16th of April in 1999. She is from Ulsan in South Korea.
Seokyoung competed in Produce 101 and was a member of the team ‘Dance Avengers.’ She was a trainee before going on Produce 101. She was a trainee for four years before making her debut.
Anne
Lee Seo Young, featured as Anne in GWSN, was the main rapper and vocalist of the group. She was born on the 17th of October in 2000 in Cheongju, South Korea. She studied at Jeungan Elementary School, Bokdae Middle School, and Hanlim Multi Art School.
When Anne was young, she wanted to be an actress, so she made a lot of CFs, MVs, and short films. Anne made her appearance in Sunny Hill’s MV ‘Goodbye To Romance.’ She also acted in the web drama ‘Half Fifty’ in 2020. She can speak Mandarin and also play piano.
Minju
Kang Min Ju, featured as Minju, was the lead dancer, vocalist, and rapper for the group GWSN. Minju was born on 11th March 2001 in Masan, South Korea. She studied at Seongho Elementary School, Masan Euishin Girl’s Middle School, and Hanlim Multi Art School. Seoryoung and Minju attended the same middle school.
Minju was a trainee under SD Entertainment. She wanted to become an idol since she was in middle school. She also acted in a web drama called ‘Color Prison’ in 2021.
SoSo
Wang Chingyi, featured as SoSo, was the lead dancer and vocalist of the group GWSN. SoSo was born on 14th March 2001 in Taiwan. She is from Taipei in Taiwan.
She studied at Juang Jing Vocational School in Taipei and joined Kiwi Pop through her school. She was recruited in Kiwi Pop from Taiwan and studied Korean in high school.
SoSo didn’t join the group activities of GWSN in 2020 because of health issues but made her comeback in May 2021. She also appeared on a ‘Idol Room’ episode.
Lena
Kang Lena featured as Lena was the main vocalist of the group GWSN. Lena was born on 17th April 2002 in South Korea and was the youngest member of the group GWSN. She is from Yongin in, South Korea.
She studied at Suwon Central Christian Academy, Yongin Sanghyeon Middle School, and Hanlim Multi Art School and was a trainee from the 7th grade. Lena lived and studied in the U.S. for some time so that she can speak English.
Songs of GWSN
GWSN has released five mini albums from the time of their debut in 2018, which have many songs. And they have also released two Original Television Soundtracks. One was titled ‘Oh Lady Go Lady’, which was released in 2018 and was for the series ‘Clean With Passion For Now.’ And the other was for the series ‘Mother of Mine.’ It was titled ‘I’m in Love’ and was released in 2019. And they have also released instrumental versions of these songs.
The Debut of GWSN
GWSN made its debut on 5th September 2018 under Kiwi Pop, which is a company of Kiwi Media Group. The company later changed its name to The Wave Music. They made their debut with a mini album titled ‘THE PARK IN THE NIGHT, part one.’ The group was later disbanded in 2023.
