Twelve new competitors are going to be the center of this new season of The Ultimate Fighter under the coaching of Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor, two very well-accomplished MMA fighters. In each episode, we’ll see how McGregor and Chanlder coach their respective crew, making sure their team earns victory after victory or learns the lessons from the mistakes resulting in defeat.
This show began way back in 2005 as the UFC was trying to get the attention of the public. Eventually, as the UFC grew to be what it is now, the show made its way back to the screens with the format of Veterans Against Prospects. While Veterans are older players that have had their fair share of combats, the prospects are novel fighters with the ambition and drive to prove they have what it takes to gain a UFC contract. McGregor will coach the prospects, and Chandler will coach the veterans.
The Ultimate Fighter Season 31 Episode 3 Recap
This episode’s main fight involved Austin Hubert and Aaron McKenzie. A veteran of the UFC, Hubert demonstrated his diverse set of skills, which included grappling, striking, and cardio. The reigning LFA (Legacy Fighting Alliance) Champion, McKenzie, tended to rely more on his grappling skills. The episode also gives background information on both fighters, highlighting their endearing character traits and approachable demeanor.
McKenzie attempted takedowns during the actual fight, but Hubert successfully defended and countered, gradually depleting McKenzie’s energy. Hubert established control of the fight by scoring powerful blows, such as knee and powerful leg kicks. He easily prevailed in rounds one and two to prevent the need for a third.
We then shifted our attention to the lightweight division of the contest, noting that Team Chandler, led by coach Michael Chandler, has had better results in terms of coaching and fighter performance than Team McGregor, led by Conor McGregor.

Looking ahead, the next episode will feature Trevor Wells’s combat in the bantamweight fight. He’s favorite and could win either by decision or possibly by late-round ground and pound or submission, but given he’s lost in the past, he’ll really have to bring his A-game to the combat.
