This season of The Ultimate Fighter will include a total of 12 new competitors. The iconic Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, both of whom are very accomplished MMA fighters, were chosen as the coaches this time. Even while the Michael-Conor battle is eagerly anticipated, the matches between up-and-coming fighters and seasoned pros are equally exciting.

The previous episode was titled “A Hefty Price to Pay,” and let’s see the recap. At the APEX venue, where the UFC has their TUF fights, Ep. 2 begins. Timur Valiev insists that not every fighter that comes out of Dagestan is the next Khabib Nurmagomedov as he previews his upcoming quarterfinal match against Trevor Wells, who won’t be intimidated by the aura of the Dagestani fighter.

Jeff Mullen from the Nevada State Athletic Commission appears out of nowhere in the gym and asks to speak with Coach Chandler. Depending on how things turn out, it appears that Wells has been declared medically unable to compete and has been benched until next week. Wells states that when he woke up, he had a cold sore on his face that resembled a red map of Italy.

The demands of weight loss are to fault, says Coach McGregor. Speaking of losing weight, Valiev did not like hearing that he would have to do it again in about seven days. If Wells is given the go-ahead to compete the following week, UFC President Dana White is willing to stage the fight at catchweight. Valiev vs. Wells will be replaced by the bantamweight contest between Mando Gutierrez and Cody Gibson, which has been moved forward.

Gutierrez had previously competed in the promotion’s “Contender Series” but had lost a match. With his superior strategy, he hopes to expose Gibson’s “lazy jab.” When Gutierrez talks about his fiancée and his “baby girl,” a dog, we experience a few happy moments. We see them kissing, cuddling, and traveling together in some videos.

While trying to motivate his team, Coach McGregor is fully exhausted after light sparring. It costs money to have all that muscle, dude. Later that night at home, Landon Quinones is yelling profanities and trash-talking the seasoned competitors. Quinones gently declines Roosevelt Roberts’ invitation to settle it outdoors after he orders him to “STFU.”

When McGregor arrives at the gym for a haircut, Gutierrez embarrasses himself by incessantly gagging on “Notorious” throughout the protracted trim. Mac bounces around the house after getting a haircut to visit with his group.
