A new episode of the cooking game show MasterChef Australia will be aired soon. With last week’s chefs failing to live up to the judge’s expectations against Serai’s chefs, they’ll now be going through the intense Elimination challenge, where one of the three contestants will be packing their things up for this season.
MasterChef Australia was created by Frank Rodman and had been releasing its episodes since 27th April 2009. With new installments being added to this Australian version each year, the latest season premiered earlier this year on 7th May 2023. This cooking series has received good ratings from both critics and audiences alike, with the average viewership being almost 1 million viewers. What makes MasterChef Australia different from other popular versions, such as the US and Canadian versions, is its lack of drama and a much calmer environment.
Each episode never fails to present praise-worthy dishes by these inexperienced yet talented Homecooks. The judges for season 15 were selected to be Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo, and Melissa Leong. With the sudden death of Jock Zonfrillo, the show’s premiere had to be postponed and this season will mark Zonfrillo’s last appearance on MasterChef. As only 12 contestants remain from the initial 18, this season is only going to get more interesting.
MasterChef Australia Season 15: What Has Happened So Far?
In the previous episodes of MasterChef Australia, we see all of the contestants putting up their best performances and bringing forth their highly complex and tasty dishes to the judges. The whole previous week would consist of them competing with teams that are guided by other professional chefs. These professionals were not just great cooks but also were the owners of Australia’s Hottest restaurants. To win the immunity for the week, the contestants had to make sure that their dishes could outshine the other team’s dishes.
After picking the tokens, Declan, Cath, and Adi were the ones who would compete in the first round. The chef that they would be competing against was Louis Tikaram, who owns Stanley Restaurant in Brisbane. Since Stanley serves primarily Cantonese flavors, the chefs were going to work on similar flavors. The challenge was one of MasterChef’s classics, The Relay, which involves perfect synchronization and understanding between the chefs to make the dish a success.
With no transfer of information, the contestants were worried if they would be able to match up with Stanley’s chefs. Ben and Declan are the ones who start first, and Ben starts working on Asian flavors. Declan starts second-guessing himself now that he realizes chefs from Stanley’s are well-versed with the ingredients he was going for.
Louis and Cath are the next ones to work on the relay challenge. Cath has a hard time figuring out what Declan is going for, but she eventually does her best to guess the dish he is going for. The relay challenge is followed by the immunity challenge, where the next set of contestants was made to compete with chefs from Serai. Brent, along with Theo and Rue, were the ones to cook off against Ross Magnaye’s skilled chefs. Unfortunately for our home cooks, they fail to meet the standard set by Serai’s chefs, sending them to elimination.
