The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity is a comedy, drama, slice-of-life, romance-based manga which is drawn and written by Mikami Saka. It released its very first chapter in the year 2021. Chidori High, an all-boys school known for its students, has students who are not financially well off and do not have much interest in academics.
The other school is Kikyo High which is an all-girls school that has all its students from wealthy families, and they are very intelligent. Rintaro Tsumugi attends Chidori, and Kaoruko Waguri attends Kikyo. Rintaro meets Kaoruko when he is helping his parents out at the bakery they own. They soon grow attracted to one another, not knowing much about each other, and they begin meeting each other.
But this does not last long as they discover that they are from very different schools, which signifies the difference in their backgrounds. And even though everyone is against them being together, they have to fight against all odds but still wish to remain together.

Kaoruko texts Rintaro about their meeting up together, and he confirms it. Then Kaoruko finds herself in a big dilemma. She is not sure if she has something to wear for the day they meet. She then immediately video calls Subaru about the choices available to her. Subaru assures her that all those looks are good on her and she can wear anything, but Kaoruko still does not end up listening to her properly.
She then lets Subaru know why she is so distressed, and it turns out it is because she wants to leave a good impression on her boyfriend’s parents. After all, she is meeting them for the first time. Subaru assures that she will be fine and not to stress too much. The next day they both meet up, and he escorts her to his home to meet his parents, which relaxes some of the nervousness she has. She notices his ears being pierced on one side.
Then they reach home, and his mother excitedly welcomes her. She presents her with the present she has gotten for his mother and announces that she is dating her son, and they head over to have food. She is impressed by the food that is on the table. His mother then teases her and asks her what she likes about his son, and then her son tells her to stop because she might be in a spot because of such a question.
His mom tells him such a question came to her mind because he abruptly dropped the bomb of their dating, and she also noticed so many changes in his, and she is happy they are now together. And while her son goes to grab the cake his father has baked for them, his mother asks her the reason she likes her son once again as she wants to hear the answer.
