Jofra Archer Controversy Explained
On April 26, 2023, Jofra tweeted against an article that was published by English Daily. He did this because, according to him, the article was not having the correct information about him. He termed it as crazy as the publisher didn’t take the player’s consent before publishing the news piece.
At the start of the same month, Archer went through a minor operation on his right elbow, which was troubling him quite often. According to the British Daily Telegraph, the operation might decrease Jofra’s chances of selection for the Ashes series, which was going to take place against Australia.
The Journal further reported that the player had to travel to Belgium to get his elbow treated. Well, the Ashes series will start on June 16, 2023, and we might expect Jofra it playing against Australia. Coming back to the controversy, Jofra might have gotten frustrated, so to clear out everything, he chose Twitter.
In his tweet, he pointed out the article saying it was published without knowing the facts and even without his consent. Further, he said that the reporter should be ashamed of exploiting a player who is already going through a tough time for his gain.
Recently, IPL 2023 took place, and Archer was present in it, giving his best even if he was struggling through a tough time. He made two appearances for the team Mumbai Indians and took two important wickets. In the 2019 Ashes, Jofra was the one who picked up 22 wickets, but he didn’t play any tests since February 2021. According to the sources, the reason was his Elbow and Back injuries. However, he made a strong comeback after 17 months.
