The chapter starts with Eric’s narration. She thought that she always messed up things, from the clown to Bartolia and then even Tristan. While both were sitting on the ground, Tristan took Eric’s hand and put it on his head. He told her that he was fine, and he knew that she was grieving for him. While they were talking, Jadis knocked on the door and told Eric that the carriage was waiting outside. She told him to go first and they would go later.

That was not the time to be grieving like that; fortunately, no one recognized Tristan’s abnormality. She told him if he were satisfied with his life as a slave, she would give him order. Eric’s third command was that he must kill her father and brother and restore Lowenthal’s honor. Eric’s final command was her apology to him. He told her not to apologize to him. She left his room and told him to come a bit later. When she went outside his room, she broke the vase kept near the door. She was angry with the palace staff because they ignored her orders as the princess and to leave Tristan in such a warehouse-like room. The person that made her helpless was Orest, and no one beside him.

When she looked around, she saw her brother standing next to her. She told him that he was testing her limits to the very end. Eric told him to wait to pay the price for her misery. Later we see Eric and Tristan with Jedis and Geraint on a carriage going Palace. Tristan asked Geraint why he was there with them. Jedis arbitrarily signed a contract with Her Highness. So now, even someone standing still like, Jedis grabbed him and took him with her.

Afterward, they reached the palace. As Eric was tired, she slept in the carriage, so Tristan took Eric to her room while she slept. When he put Eric on her bed, he noticed she looked even more beautiful while sleeping. Eric’s hairs were on her face, so Tristan moved them aside, but he didn’t know why he felt disgusted doing that.
