A Galaxy Next Door is about a young man named Ichirou Kuga who had to step up as his two younger siblings’ caretaker after their father’s untimely demise. Ichirou rents out a room in his apartment complex and works as a manga artist to make ends meet. Ichirou’s life seems to be going down when he hires the mysterious Shiori Goshiki as his assistant.

With her skills, things start looking up, but Ichirou gets caught in a supernatural event with Goshiki, and Goshiki claims that they are married now. How will Ichirou manage his siblings and this strange relationship he has with Goshiki?

A Galaxy Next Door: Episode 5 Recap

In the previous episode of A Galaxy Next Door, Ichirou plans a trip to the zoo, and Fumio and Machi invite Goshiki to go with them. Everyone is extremely excited about the zoo trip, and the family packs sandwiches as well as Zoopedia for their trip. Ichirou and Goshiki, along with Fumio and Machi, commence their zoo trip. Upon reaching the place, Ichirou sits down with his siblings, and they plan out what they will do after looking at the timings for each event.

Goshiki looks extremely excited as well since this was her first visit to the zoo, and she is impressed since the family was planning the events. They first go to pet animals, where they pick up and pet guinea pigs on their laps. Once they’re done, Goshiki says something extremely sweet to Ichirou, and the siblings find it funny, but they soon realize there’s something going on between them. Ichirou finally tells them about his relationship with her.

The two children react in a very positive way and congratulate Ichirou for making his first girlfriend. Ichirou is surprised since he was somewhat expecting a negative reaction. Ichirou promises to take care of all of them since he loves them a lot. The four of them continue their zoo trip, and by the evening, they are done visiting the zoo. Machi asks Goshiki what she likes about Ichirou, which makes Goshiki wonder and stress about what Ichirou likes about her.

At home, Ichirou puts the children to bed and seems extremely tired from the zoo trip. On the other hand, Goshiki is still thinking about what Ichirou likes about her. Ichirou cleans up and washes the lunch boxes. Tired, he falls asleep sitting on the dining table when Goshiki spots him. She is about to touch Ichirou’s neck and stops herself, asks Ichirou if she can touch it, and begins caressing it. As she goes to bed, Goshiki still doesn’t have the answer she wants.
