The story of I Became The Despised Granddaughter Of The Murim Family follows the life of Baek Ee- Gang’s daughter who is perceived as useless and trash by people. Her father had just passed away and she was shattered to see him gone.
Even though their relationship strained over time, she always loved her father dearly. She had once read a novel which followed the same events as what happened to her. In this novel, the main character who sacrificed to create a new main protagonist that no one else knew about.
The daughter believes that she is a villainous side character who had awakened and if she ran away and started a new life, then things like murder would not happen. The future depended on her running away people not knowingly that she was a villainous character.
However, she is stabbed by a mysterious person while running away and when she wakes up, she is a kid with her father next to her. Thinking that this is a flashback before her death, she tells her father she loves him but the flashback does not end. She returned back in time.

Chapter 33 of I Became The Despised Granddaughter Of The Murim Family starts off with Cheon Gwi Jo fighting Baek Ee Gang. Gwi Jo was known as a notorious man who was well trained in martial arts. However, Baek Ee Gang was stronger than him and inflicted a fatal injury on Gwi Jo after which he fled the battlefield.
So Yong, one of the comrades was detoxifying injuries of her wounded friends while Baek Ee Gang engaged in a furious battle with Cheon Gwi Jo. He was to able to reflect all his attacks. Realizing that he was at a disadvantage on flat lands, Gwi Jo retreated into the forest and lured Baek Ee Gang.
Form within the trees, he started attacking him but due to his Qi control, Baek Ee Gang was able to deflect his punches. Gwi Jo started provoking Baek Ee by talking about his daughter being the black sheep in Murim because she could not control her Qi.
She would not be able to survive Jianghu living like that so Baek Ee Gang should be worried about that. This was all a tactic to disturb the Qi stability of Baek Ee Gang which Gwi Jo was able to achieve.
Seeing this as a once in a life time opportunity, he charges forward to kill Baek Ee Gang.
