The release date for 61st Street Season 2 Episode 8 is here. Moses Johnson (Tosin Cole), a promising black high school athlete, is followed in the narrative as he becomes entangled in the notoriously dishonest Chicago criminal court system.
He is captured by the police and accused of being a member of a gang. As police and prosecutors seek retribution for the murder of an officer during a botched narcotics bust, he finds himself in the center of the storm.
In the latter stages of his career, public defender Franklin Roberts (Vance) works in the busiest courthouse in the country. Franklin realized Moses Johnson was the case of a lifetime, one that might upend the whole Chicago legal system, confronting institutional racism and pervasive corruption at its core.
Franklin had promised his wife he would retire so they could spend more time with their 17-year-old autistic son. 61st Street is a timely and provocative play that aims at the institutionalized abuse taking place in some of our nation’s most disadvantaged areas.
Courtney B. Vance and Aunjanue Ellis, both well-liked performers, are featured in the TV show. Vance has already won two Emmys, one for American Crime Story and one for Love Country.
Additionally, he has lately been seen in The Photograph, Genius, and Uncorked. Ellis was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in King Richard. Her upcoming high-profile roles include those in The Colour Purple, Caste, and Justified: City Primaeval.
