Oda also said if Luffy is from another world, instead of a pirate, he would be a firefighter. The reason is his fearlessness.

Eiichiro Oda once mentioned that Monkey D. Luffy resembles the sunflower. We all know the sunflower symbolizes jubilation. It is not a sweet coincidence. Luffy, alongside Goku, appeared at the 39th International Emmy Awards in New York. The costume character version of Luffy and Goku presented the Children & Young People Award category on stage.
