WWE Clash of the Castle 2022 was the pay-per-view that would set the tone for the product moving ahead since it was the first pay-per-view card entirely designed by Triple H since his takeover of creative. It unquestionably delivered. Roman Reigns’ high-stakes match against Drew McIntyre of the UK for the Undisputed WWE Championship served as the event’s main attraction. Fans questioned if the WWE made the right decision in light of Reigns’ retaining of the title with the help of Solo Sikoa.

The remainder of the show included a number of standout matches and special moments. These varied from Dominik Mysterio turning on Edge and his father Rey to Sheamus getting a standing ovation after his brutal fight with Gunther. Bayley and Belair began their match as the starting women. ” Hey Bayley” was sung by the fans in an effort to welcome Bayley, but she was having none of it. All six of the women entered the ring, and the match started. Together, Bliss, Belair, and Asuka execute a triple suplex in the middle of the ring. The official women were Bliss and SKY. When wrestling in Japan, Michael Cole mentioned that SKY and Asuka had previously teamed up. The crowd applauded when Bayley was tagged in.

Bayley and Asuka squared off after Asuka was tagged in. SKY tagged in and started taking out Asuka with one of her missile dropkicks from the top rope. Kai joined in and carried on putting Asuka in her corner. Bayley quickly tagged in and out, drawing a reaction from the crowd once again. Bliss, who finally tagged in the match, took out Bayley from the outside, but Kai followed it up by drop-kicking Bliss further into the barricade. Belair was then taken out by Bayley and Kai, limiting the hot tag.

Eventually, Asuka reappeared and unleashed a barrage of attacks on Bayley and SKY. Bliss returned, but Bayley hit her in the stomach. Together, Bayley and SKY made an effort to remove Asuka. Once Belair was tagged in for the hot tag, the action accelerated. Bliss and Asuka used Belair’s back as a springboard in the corner to throw a superplex to Bayley from the top. Belair lifted Kai into the air using her strength. Belair dropped a powerbomb, but Kai changed the momentum by landing a Scorpion Kick. Kai, SKY, and Bayley took all advantage of this situation. Ultimately, Bayley won by pinning the champion.

Gunther vs. Sheamus

Gunther and Sheamus were facing each other as Kaiser, Butch, Holland, and Vinci were fighting. Both men instantly started fighting after the bell rang. Gunther delivered it to Sheamus, who, in the early phases of the fight, already had bruises on his chest. Sheamus tried to change the situation, but Gunther scouted the Irishman. Sheamus directed Gunther toward the steel steps outside. Gunther returned to the ring and delivered a powerful chop to Sheamus’ chest as he stood in the corner. Gunther ultimately used a chop from the top turnbuckle to force Sheamus from the ring. In the end, Gunther threw Sheamus up into the steel steps.

After barely escaping the count, Sheamus entered the ring once again to attack the champion. Gunther continued to punish Sheamus and struck him in the face with a powerful kick. Sheamus backed up against the ropes as Gunther hit him with many chops and blows. The champion locked in a Boston Crab and then delivered a cross-face. Sheamus fought back once more, but Gunther maintained his position. Gunther hit the floor with a body slam from outside. Sheamus threw Gunther off the commentary table. Sheamus returned to the ring and attempted his signature 10 strikes to the chest on the ropes. Sheamus tried it once more with Gunther at ringside draped over the barricade.

Sheamus and Gunther exchanged punches in the middle of the ring. Sheamus successfully connected with a big knee, but it was insufficient to defeat Gunther. Gunther responded by securing a sleeper. Sheamus hit a White Noise in response, but Gunther kicked out of the cover. Gunther didn’t get all of a tried powerbomb. In the corner of the ring, Sheamus and Gunther once more exchanged blows. Sheamus was sent down by Gunther. The champion raised his shoulder again after the Irishman’s Celtic Cross from the top turnbuckle. When Sheamus attempted the Brogue Kick, his back failed him. Gunther was successful in dropping a powerbomb. The winner finished it off with a lariat to secure the victory.

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

The match intros took place just before the match started. Early in, Morgan attempted a roll-up, but Baszler countered. Baszler attempted to hold a submission. Baszler effortlessly escaped the champion’s attempt to lock in her own submission. Baszler was knocked off her feet by Morgan’s dropkick. Morgan made a top move that was quite risky. Morgan’s arm was slammed onto the top rope by Baszler, sending the champion flying out of the ring. As the action moved back to the ring, Baszler took charge. Morgan fought against her arm. Baszler continued punishing her further.

Baszler targeted Morgan’s weak arm in an attempt to make morgan give up. As a response, Morgan successfully executed a dropkick from the turnbuckle. Morgan hit Baszler face-first into her knee, but it wasn’t sufficient to claim the victory. Baszler continued working on the hurt arm once more. Morgan responded with an arm bar. Baszler eventually managed to get away, and the challenger hit Morgan in the mouth with a knee. From the top turnbuckle, Morgan successfully connected with a powerbomb, but Baszler eventually flipped over and was locked in an arm bar. By grabbing the bottom rope, Morgan released the grip. Morgan successfully combined Codebreaker and Oblivion to keep the gold.

Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. The Judgment Day

The match was started by Bálor and Mysterio as the legal guys. Bálor got things going quickly. Mysterio made an effort to retaliate by using his speed. Mysterio made contact with a head scissors. Bálor seemed unsettled and tagged in Priest. Priest signaled that he wished to face Edge by pointing at him. Edge was tagged in because the audience wanted him to participate in the fight. Priest struck Edge in the face with a powerful right fist. The fans erupted in excitement at Edge’s response. Mysterio, who had now become the legal man, was flung by Edge into Priest and Bálor outside. As Mysterio re-entered the ring, Priest was able to stop his momentum. Priest kept on pushing Mysterio while insulting Edge in the corner.

The match resumed with Bálor tagging back in and keeping Mysterio on the ground. Mysterio was able to knock Priest to the ground outside the barricade. Mysterio entered the ring once more and used the hot tag to bring in Edge. Edge ended up taking out Bálor and Priest. Edge threw Priest from the ring. Bálor was pushed onto the middle rope by Edge, who then executed a 619. Mysterio then followed it up with a splash, but Priest stopped Edge from getting the pin. Edge hit Priest with a spear that landed on the floor off the apron. As Mysterio entered the ring, Bálor threw him out. Bálor started to get some momentum.

Dominik Mysterio interrupted to distract the referee’s attention. It allowed Mysterio to knock Bálor to the ground. Ripley tried to attack Dominik outside, but Mysterio took on both of them. Mysterio placed Bálor up again for 619, but the Irishman countered. Dominik grabbed Bálor’s foot, enabling Mysterio and Edge to capitalize. Edge delivered a spear as the final blow to claim victory. After the match, Dominik low-blowed Edge and then attacked his father. Priest, Ripley, and Bálor laughed in the backdrop. The fans were left shocked and booed Dominik to leave the stadium.

As soon as the bell rang to begin the match, Rollins and Riddle immediately attacked one another. Riddle strikes Rollins in the corner repeatedly. The referee stepped in the way and managed to pull Riddle away. Riddle tried to gain the upper hand by dropping a few gut-wrenching powerbombs. In response, Rollins dropped Riddle from the top rope. Rollins threw Riddle against the barricade as the fight spilled outside. When Riddle stood up again, Rollins went through the ropes to knock him down. As the fight returned to the ring, Rollins took charge of the match. Rollins attempted to pin Riddle with a Falcon Arrow in the middle of the ring, but Riddle kicked out.

Rollins stomped Riddle twice in the chest when he was tied up in the corner. Rollins successfully completed a superplex, but Riddle quickly countered with a Fisherman Buster. After landing a powerful outside kick, Riddle dove from the apron into Rollins below. Back in the ring, Riddle made a series of strikes, but Rollins kicked out at two. Riddle and Rollins exchanged moves. Riddle was successful in locking his opponent in the triangle.

When it appeared that Rollins would lose consciousness, he got to his feet again and executed Riddle’s finishing move, the Bro Derek. Riddle and Rollins exchanged words once again. In the end, Rollins hit a Pedigree, but Riddle broke out of the cover. After a brief verbal exchange, Rollins fired Riddle up. Rollins hit Riddle with Randy Orton’s rope-draping DDT. Riddle got angry once more as Rollins continued to copy Orton. Rollins executed a stomp when Riddle allowed his feelings to overwhelm him. After that, Rollins successfully executed a stomp from the turnbuckle to secure the victory.

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

As the bell rang, the crowd was solidly behind McIntyre. Reigns started to laugh and expressed his disinterest. McIntyre and Reigns got into a fight, putting each other to the test. Reigns placed a headlock on McIntyre. With a power move, McIntyre appeared to frighten Reigns. McIntyre pushed Reigns into a corner and started throwing blows. Reigns was knocked out of the ring by the challenger, who then knocked him into a set of steel steps. At the ringside, Kross and McIntyre had an exchange that Reigns was able to benefit from.

Reigns and McIntyre traded blows in the center of the ring. As McIntyre got stronger, he was able to knock Reigns over the top turnbuckle.

Reigns and McIntyre exchanged words repeatedly. Reigns attempted a Superman Punch but failed, allowing McIntyre to land a DDT. Finally, Reigns used the Superman Punch to stop McIntyre’s Claymore attempt. Reigns hit with a spear, but McIntyre broke out of the cover at two. Reigns multiple times locked Drew in the Guillotine. In the end, McIntyre managed to get away, sending the champion against the ring post. At ringside, McIntyre used a spear to drive Reigns through the barricade.

A Thrilling End

McIntyre attempted to use the Claymore in the ring, but Reigns countered with a spear. McIntyre once more kicked out of the attempted pinfall. Reigns demanded referee Charles Robinson to stop. McIntyre ended up landing a Claymore that sent Robinson falling out of the ring. Immediately, Austin Theory emerged with his Money in the Bank. Theory received a hit from Tyson Fury next to the commentary table. Reigns walked over to a steel chair.

Reigns quickly kicked out of the cover as McIntyre successfully connected with the Claymore. In the middle of the ring, the two men exchanged blows. McIntyre successfully landed a spear and then struck the Claymore. Nevertheless, during the cover, Solo Sikoa yanked the referee out of the ring. Sikoa distracted McIntyre and brought him down to the top rope. Reigns was able to deliver a spear to retain as a result.

Following the match, Fury came to the ring and shook Reigns’ hand. Fury then raised McIntyre’s hands. Fury took the opportunity to speak, saying McIntyre made everyone proud. Fury started singing. McIntyre joined him in singing. Fury expressed his gratitude to the Cardiff crowd. McIntyre said that the Cardiff fans stood for him. McIntyre promised to seize the Undisputed WWE Championship. As the crowd sang Oasis, McIntyre said he was ready to party.
