If you were around to witness the rise of YouTube and its hundred thousand channels, you have been around for too long, and you may have also come across one particular YouTube channel which, at some point, had taken over all of our lives with its ridiculous quizzes and videos. We are pointing toward the iconic channel, Buzzfeed, the one channel that had such a chokehold on us.
And if you have followed that channel, then you must have come across its extended branch called Buzzfeed: Unsolved, a show that had two of our beloved hosts, Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej, who, with each episode, explored a new horror story about mysterious murders or haunted houses. The two share amazing chemistry, with Ryan convinced that the ghosts were probably out to get the two of them and Shane just cracking hilarious jokes while making fun of his co-host.
Through their show, the two also used to go to specific haunted places that remained shut and not open to the public to personally call out the ghosts and have a nice chat with them. Ryan remains scared, but he still bravely goes through the torture of it all, and Shane, well, all of this does not really faze him, or so he says. While there have been a few creepy and eerie instances, the two have not really made a dent in their research and have not really found any substantial answer to their question, are ghosts real?
Mystery Files: Plot
The two hosts, Ryan and Shane, had been running their series, Buzzfeed: Unsolved on YouTube, starting in 2016. Since then, the two have traveled all over the country to finally answer their questions, though nothing much of substance has been found. It is still really fun and interesting to watch the two take their jobs so seriously, and while it had been a comfort series for many, they announced the show’s end in 2021.
The show ran for eight seasons and is still available on YouTube for fans to binge. But while this one may have ended, the two hosts recently announced their return to the true crime genre with another show called Mystery Files. These two are practically the OGs in the paranormal and crime world, having paved the way for others in the business.
The two plan on returning to the game, this time launching the series on their co-owned YouTube channel called Watcher. Fans will get to see the two take their cameras to some more creepy places as a part of their ongoing investigation. They have promised fans that though earlier they used to include their hilarious moments in the show to keep it light, this one is surely going to get darker, but fans are convinced that it will be impossible for Shane to keep his sarcastic remarks to himself and that the show will be just as hilarious as dark.
With their experience, their investigation skills and research skills have definitely advanced, and fans cannot wait for new episodes of the series to launch.
