I’m Really Not The Demon God’s Lackey Chapter 97: Recap

The chapter opens up with the Ash Market arriving at Lin’s library. Edmund orders all of his associates to be extremely careful and not touch or look at anything.

He reminds everyone that their main purpose is to fulfill their master’s wish and complete Lin’s request regarding identity issues. They all then get inside the library and find Lin and Moon inside.

Lin greets everyone as he has been expecting them, while Moon stays silent because she’s still lost in thoughts of Walpurgis. Edmund also greets Lin, and Lin thinks of how efficient the Ash market is because it’s only been a few days since he talked to Lady Irie regarding his request.

Lin then introduces Moon to everyone and tells them that she needs a new, legal, and clean identity.

Moon still doesn’t pay attention, so Lin pokes her to tell her to cooperate with the Ash market as she can play with her box some other time. Edmund takes one look at the ominous box and feels terrified because of it.

He thinks that the box must have been created by a high-grade wizard, but the fact that Lin treats such an object as a mere toy is nothing short of Extraordinary.

Edmund says that he got all the details from his master about Lin’s request, so he begins the process right away. Edmund then explains how the Ash market operates and the process and conditions of making a fake identity.

Edmund’s associates get a camera to capture Moon’s picture and Itai’s energy, but she gets scared by their appearance.

Edmund then tells Lin that Lady Irie is currently attending to market matters and so she can’t visit him, and so she has sent a gift as an apology. Lin says that he can take anything if it’s from Irie.

Edmund then reveals the gift, which is a gold coin that has been passed down for generations. Edmund remembers how much he tried to stop Irie from using the “Misfortune Coin” as a gift, but he failed because of her innocent face.

Irie tells Edmund about how dangerous the coin is by showing him a picture. She says that if the owner of the coin is a weak Sorcerer, then the coin will immediately devour them.

Lin takes a look at the coin and says that it has good research value, which surprises Edmund. He then picks up the coin to take a closer look, and Edmund gets even more shocked.

Edmund wonders how strong Lin is because he doesn’t even consider the coin as a Sorcery medium. Edmund then tells Lin that the Misfortune coin has one other part called the lucky coin, which has been missing for ages, and so the coin of destiny is incomplete.

Lin also agrees with Edmund from a historical perspective, and then suddenly, Colin enters the library.

Colin gets scared by seeing Lin and Ash Market together, so he says some random excuse and runs away. Edmund nearly gets a heart attack when he sees the coin left behind by Colin.

Lin also notices that the coin is quite similar to the misfortune coin, which can only mean that it is the legendary lucky coin!
