Baki Hanma Season 2 Recap:
In the story of Baki Hanma, the son of the world’s strongest man, Yujiro Hanma: The Ogre, a man who knows several forms of martial arts, Baki takes on the challenge to defeat his father, Yujiro Hanma in a 1v1 match, thus becoming the world’s strongest fighter.
But what drove Baki towards the challenge to defeat the world’s strongest fighter was not retribution or atrocity nor the title of world’s strongest fighter; it was his feelings to repay his love to his mother. A gift of the capability to repay his mother’s love and fulfill his mother’s desire to give Yuijro Hanma equal.
In season 2 of Baki Hanma, we see Baki hearing the news about the primordial man, from the Jurassic era, being unearthed by the scientists, who’s now said to be the greatest gift mankind could come across. Scientists plan to revive him, thus reviving the old lost secrets of the now humans. While the scientists run tests on him, they find that his vigor makes him the strongest human to ever live.
While the Primordial Man gets revived by smelling dinosaur meat, which a scientist cooked, his revival only brings chaos after the scientists recognize the caveman only eats after winning his hard-fought victory. Then, every fighter who ever conceded himself as strong dreamed of fighting the caveman, who was later named Pickle.
After fighting several fights and even eating Katsumi’s arms off, Pickle faces Baki as his next opponent; the fight seems somewhat supernatural after measuring the intensity of the fight. Baki chooses his defeat and lets Pickle win, as the caveman later runs away, never to be found in the world he’s never met in ages. Although Baki always knows how to find Pickle, the kindness lingers.
After the baffling events, the time finally comes when Baki has to face his strongest opponent, the world’s strongest man, Yujiro Hanma Baki’s father, as the eyes open for the greatest fight that Japan could ever experience.
Baki Hanma Season 3’s Ending Explained:
After the unhinged fight with the primordial man Pickle, Baki now had to get on the ground to face the greatest fighter to ever exist, Yujiro Hanma, while Baki found his stimulus to fight the Ogre and become the strongest fighter ever.
The fight sets off between Yujiro Hanma and Baki in a volatile manner in a hotel room, where the Ogre bashes his son with countless brutal strikes, even breaking the room walls, later throwing Baki and himself outside the window towards the ground.
After surviving the fall, the Ogre bashes him into mush. Baki’s every strike seems predictable against the Ogre. Even when he scored a hit, he missed the crucial spots. When Baki finally awakens and deals relevant damage to the Ogre using his quick assault, which even the Ogre didn’t see coming, the Ogre breaks Baki’s nose, with blood all over the place; with every move Baki performed, Yuujiro outstretched his hand.
Later, Yujiro grabs Baki and swings him like a flag, with blood coming from his nose, eyes, and ears. The fight didn’t seem like it was made for mortals, but as the Hanma blood in Baki awakens at 100% this time, Baki bashes the Ogre with a hard rock track playing in the background.
The fight was at a point where the aura of the fighters was visible to everyone experiencing the fight; the battle was now far beyond humans. With the end coming, Yujiro announces his son, Baki, as the strongest in the world after the father and son have an imaginary meal of miso soup together.
Baki Hanma Season 3 Review:
The show had a lot to offer, and with the action and reversals, it had a clear view of presenting things in their right order. The show had a significant plot twist that will keep you awake occasionally.
Along with its ferocious brutality and action, it made an impact on every person’s mind who loves fighting and self-defense, who sees themselves standing in the ring against the strongest, and who dreams of defeating the strongest.
The series brought us the intensity we all needed to see and experience through Baki. So, this fight between Yujiro Hanma and Baki Hanma was an eternal bond connecting the father and the son.
