4-Nin Wa Sorezore Uso Wo Tsuku Episode 2 Review
This episode has a lot of wonderful gags, and I hope it gets more exposure. I’m not generally a fan of slice-of-life stories, but the humor works, and it’s really sweet. It’s funny how Tsubasa’s attempt to avoid being too girly turned him into a tomboy! Of course, his sister will not allow him to get away with it; she prefers him to be a frilly lady! Then I wonder if her plan was real sometimes, I feel like she just wants to dress her brother up as a girl for her pleasure. That’s not like a tomboy being shy about cute things.
That’s a terrible shame because flustered tomboys are so cute! It would be so sad for her if I was right about her sister! It’s the first time I’ve heard the anime line “Ow, my tentacles.” I’ve seen some anime with chicks and tentacles, but they’re usually from completely different genres. They went to her because it turned out she was legitimate. Is anyone on this program normal? The three females aren’t regular, and neither is the fortune teller.
Tsubasa’s sister may not have superpowers, but she is far from ordinary. The English teacher was likewise unusual. It’s only Tsubasa and a boy forced to masquerade as a girl to attend a strange school. We came across Tsubasa’s prospective bride. The good news is that he will find love and marry, and despite his sister’s odd behavior, he will not be a weirdo. Also, Chiyo will be his bride (with a small change in hair/color years later). His love for ninjas made her blush so hard when she heard about it.
I don’t know if this series will last long enough to see it, or maybe there will be a flash-forward, but if that doesn’t happen, I’ll just headcanon it. “They’re putting him in a maid suit!” I thought as soon as Tsubasa stated that. In episode 2, it appears that they are already holding a festival. It’s a pretty good fit for her tomboy nature, and Chiyo also looked great! Whether that is the case, or if Sekine is an “adult maid,” I’m sure he will figure out Tsubasa’s secret sometime.
It could be through seeing him with his sister (hearing what she thinks) or simply realizing why she can’t read ‘her’ thoughts. When that happens, I wonder how their dynamics will change. She may not want him to change with the girls or anything like that, but she may not want to reveal his secret either, given that it isn’t his fault. How about if he’s invited to sleepovers and things like that? Will she keep his secret, then? Anyway, that’s a great show so far.
