The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady anime series is based on the manga adaptation written by Piero Karasu and illustrated by Yuri Kisaragi. The anime series is being produced by Studio Diomedéa under the direction of Shingo Tamaki. The anime has been running since January 4th, 2023, and has a total of 9 episodes till now.
The anime follows the story of Anisphia Wynn Palettia, Princess of the Kingdom of Palettia, and his brother’s ex-fiance, Euphyllia. Born as a muggle in her previous birth, she did not have a fortunate birth this time either; born to a royal family, Anisphia lacked magic or magical prowess. However, the one power she does have is that of retaining memories of her past life.
Anisphia, who longed to be a wizard, spends her days and nights obsessing over magic and building magical tools derived from the knowledge she had in her previous life. One night, Anisphia was successful in flying into the sky with her magical broom, which landed near the Aristocratic Academy, where an evening party was occurring.
There, Euphyllia, the daughter of the perfect duke and the rumored magical genius, was declared annulled by Anisphia’s younger brother, Prince Algard, for allegedly bullying Lainie, his real love interest. To prevent shame from befalling Euphyillia, Anisphia grabbed her and ran, creating the premise for the story.
The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady Episode 9: Storyline
Episode 9 was titled, ‘The Sister and Brother, and for Whom the Crown is Intended.’ It begins with a flashback of young Algard and Anisphia talking to each other about the day when Anishphia got Al into trouble. Anisphia requests another experiment with Al, who is doubtful of its safety of it.
He does not wish to be involved because his father scolded him last time. Apologizing for the previous accident and feeling remorseful for her actions, Algard accompanies Anisphia for another experiment. After this, the screen returns to the enraging fight between the siblings.
Algard uses his magic and vampire abilities to rain attacks on Anisphia, but the latter renders them all useless. However, Anisphia cannot inflict damage on her brother because of his extremely fast regenerative abilities.
At the same time, the two fight, and Euphyillia and Ilya try to heal a heavily bleeding Lainie. Lainie asks for some blood which Euphyllia tries to offer but is stopped by Ilya, who bites her tongue and kisses Lainie to give her the blood.
As the fight continues, Anisphia is about to deliver the final blow to Algard, who seems to be smiling before the final blow. Euphyllia jumps in to interfere in the battleground, stopping Anis from hurting her brother any further. Euphyllia gets mad at Anisphia, asking her why she is fighting her brother and calling them both idiots.
According to her, the look on Anisphia’s face shows that she did not want to kill her brother, so why were they both fighting? The scene transitions to a flashback where we see Al hiding while Anisphia is chasing away monsters.
It was the day Al felt completely human until his sister threw him away. There had been rumors spreading around the Kingdom that Anisphia wanted to seize the throne for herself by killing Algard out of jealousy. She renounced the throne, which changed the relationship between the siblings drastically.
Al’s words reveal that he truly wished Anisphia to be the King because she was so much more fit for the job. However, the people who run the system would look down on her. According to him, a system that is bound by orthodox traditions will never prosper in the future.
Hence, Al hints at his sister to destroy the system completely. Al breaks down and states that he should have never been born. It was because of him that his sister suffered so much. Not being able to be something that he wishes to be is painful.
Al accepts his fate of exile by the King. The King asks him if Al holds any grudges against him, to which Al denies holding any. However, if he does hold a grudge against anyone, it is the world. Prince Moritz and the collaborators behind the events related to Euphyllia’s breakup of the engagement were sentenced to death.
After shaking hands with his sister to make up for the souring of the relationship between the two, the episode ends with Al, Lainie, and Euphie “talking things out” as Al is ready to move to the remote Kingdom. He asks Euphyllia to take care of his sister.
The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady Episode 9: Review
The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady Episode 9 talks about the reconciliation of two siblings whose relationship drastically altered, thanks to the system they were kept under. The episode had a climactic fight and talked about the emotional fallouts that our characters underwent.
The light put on Algard in this episode is different from the previous one, which represents him as someone full of pride and envious of his sister, tired of always being in her shadows. He wanted to seize the Kingdom for himself, even using foul tactics like brainwashing magic.
However, this episode saw him through a different lens; a younger sibling who wished the best for his sister and blamed himself for everything that bad that had ever happened to her. The flashback of the kids running away from the castle to perform experiments is a pertinent scene.
We get to learn that Algard truly loved his sister. She saw him as a person, flawed as he was, and still chose to be there for him. Her hands were always warm and welcoming, and it was only because of his sister that he ever felt completely human.
However, the rumors which spread stating that Anis, the magic misfit of the royalty, was trying to seize power by killing Algard reversed the dynamics between the two. Anis wanted to safeguard her brother and help him prosper in the future.
Algard felt that he was betrayed by his sister, which soured relations between the two of them. He is seen as a contradictory person, which makes him a flawed character in the anime. He feels more real and grounded in reality because, as humans, we all make contradictory statements.
The episode delves deep into the riddled political system, which creates a rift between the siblings. However, they reconcile, which is a great thing. Now, Anisphia is left to pick up the pieces of a fragmented kingdom. She is the sole legitimate heir to the throne as Algard was exiled. However, if the anime has really taught us something, it is that support and teamwork are important.
The characters Lainie and Euphyllia also get closure during this episode. Neither forgives him for what he did, but they believe he can become a better person. Lainie could have thrown a punch or two at him because it was justified. Changing the world or destroying existing systems is not a thing one can do alone, and Anis has the trustworthy Euphyllia with her to bring change.
The Magical Revolution Of The Reincarnated Princess And The Genius Young Lady Episode 9 is an emotionally overwhelming episode. The focus of the episode is on siblings and their reconciliation and the closure that some characters get.
