Macross Delta is set 8 years after the events of Macross Frontier. Protagonists Hayate Immelman and Freyja Wion join the private military organization known as Strategic Military Services (SMS) and their Delta Squadron to battle the Var Syndrome, a mysterious phenomenon that slowly spreads across the universe and can turn people into berserk monsters.
