Deadloch Filming Locations
The series is said to be based in the town of Deadloch in Tasmania, but fans of the show living in Australia must know already that such a place does not exist and that it is fictional. The filming of the show started in February and got wrapped up in a span of five months, done for the most part in Tasmania.
The Island of Tasmania
This island, especially its southernmost region, is where fans will see the actors the most. Much of the shooting for the show was done during the lockdown times in 2021. Though this was the primary location for filming, we have mentioned more specific locations below.
Cygnet
Located in the Huon Valley in Tasmania, the place is a popular spot for tourists because of its countless souvenir shops and attractive cafes. The place itself has a very quirky and aesthetic vibe to it, and what is even more interesting is that the town is a hotspot for artists and even has its own art festival every year. This is the spot in the show where the townspeople were shown preparing for the upcoming yearly festival right before the murder was revealed.
Hobart
The capital of the Tasmanian island, much of the show is also shot in and around the perimeters of this region. The place itself is popularly known for its scenic eating spots and all of its art galleries. While the place has a ton of museums and restaurants, and cafes, it also proudly boasts its natural reserves located not very far from the capital. The beautiful scenery in these two places has added greatly to the show’s scenes, promoting the locations for all the right reasons.
Kingston Beach
With a vibe completely opposite to that of Hobart, Kingston Beach, also located in Tasmania, is a quiet and peaceful place where the series was filmed. The beach scenes that you see in the series all seemed to be shot here as the place itself is not all that far from Hobart, though the two places are completely different. It is a beautiful beach location within the reach of the filming crew and easily accessible.
While it must have been fun and pleasing for the actors and crew to film at such beautiful places, it has also definitely added greatly to the show in terms of aesthetics and having overall dreamy backdrops.
