The male lead/husband has started to give more attention to the female lead these past few chapters. After seeing that not only she has the backbone to end their marriage but thrive outside of it, he has started to see her in a new light.
However, the story suggests that nothing much has changed with the female lead in the story. She hasn’t changed much just got sick with her husband, who wouldn’t even give her attention. But that changed a lot when she initiated the divorce, and the male lead started to feel insecure about his dominance.
Even in the last chapter, we see that his feelings of care are from a place of insecurity. He hasn’t magically started to love his wife all of a sudden, and he just feels pity that she can be happy without him. The fight between the two made it clear in the last chapter, with the female lead made to feel guilty about her conduct.

However, the male lead got jealous of the interaction. He was jealous that he didn’t get the same response out of her and that their conversations weren’t as lively. He made sure to bring that up and even guilt trip to the point female lead didn’t know what to do. Moreover, it did have an effect, and it doesn’t seem like things will end well, given the conclusion of the fight.
