Dark Mage’s Return to Enlistment tells the story of a man whose powers are honed through rigorous training after coming from another world. Despite being quite predictable, the manga manages to keep readers interested. While the protagonist seems like a genius in front of the recruits, he has only been subjected to a much harsher training regimen.

Throughout the story, the protagonist compares his experiences on Earth with those in the other world. As a result of the protagonist’s singular goal of destroying all the monsters in his favorite game, the gaming company will keep making the game better, so he will not have to serve in the military, and he will keep playing the game. Short-term goals of the manga include advancing in ranks and depicting the protagonist as an OP (overpowered) MC.

While it is unclear whether he will encounter characters with similar strengths in the future, he appears invincible at the moment.
