Dave informs Fern about his deceased wife, Marcy, and their two children. His daughter Donna has two children, while the son is gay and lives in Australia. Meanwhile, Fern also reveals that she used to be a part of Tiller Girls, the famous dance troupe in the 1980s. However, her second husband left her for a younger lady.
Fern had to go to the Canary Islands to attend her daughter’s wedding. So, Dave gets ready to be her Spanish teacher to let her impress the groom’s family. However, he must face Fern’s anger for lying to Fern at some point. Let us see how love blooms between them while going on the 23 walks with their dogs.
The movie targets the senior audience though people from other age groups can watch it though. However, children must watch it under their parent’s guidance as it includes intimate and depressing scenes and adult language.
23 Walks Ending Explained
On the one hand, Dave struggles to pay the rent for his council flat though the council request is reasonable, and he can hardly do something against it. On the other hand, Fern stays for half a year in her family home, which afterward gets sold. As mentioned in the plot, Dave had been lying to Fern. Dave wants to stay in the same house because he has a secret nearby.
Dave’s wife, Marcy, is not dead. Instead, she stays in the assisted living facility and suffers from dementia. Thus, she does not remember Dave. Tilly gets ill and dies. So, it may hurt you if you are a dog lover. Meanwhile, their love keeps blossoming through the ups and downs. You will not find any reason for the title ’23 Walks’ after a few initial scenes.
Physical intimacy gets portrayed in a few scenes with no nudity. Similarly, adult language and erectile dysfunction get mentioned. Brief hospital scenes and references to heart-wrenching illnesses got made. Fern, who has been dismissive in the beginning, got open and kind till the end of the movie. However, she was still not so nice, according to the viewers. So, Dave falling for seems to be indigestible. Dog walks and the park was not bad to plan for filming during the pandemic.
The movie makers claim the movie to be a romantic comedy. The romance was present, but the viewers kept craving comedy throughout the movie. It was sweet, but the actors’ talent got wasted. A more effective script and plot twists could add more crispness to the movie.
