Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is a new anime that is going to hit the screens this season. It’s inspired by a manga from Negi Haruba, the same creator behind The Quintessential Quintuplets.
This anime is a spoof of the Super Sentai anime, showing a battle between the Dragon Keepers and some bad guys.
But there’s a twist: the bad guys are already defeated, and only their leftover soldiers are left. The Keepers use them to pretend they’re still heroes.
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! flips the script on the typical Super Sentai tale, injecting it with cynicism instead of classic heroics.
If you’re into darker, more cynical superhero stories or enjoy poking fun at standard hero tropes, this anime is for you. But if you’re looking for similar satirical anime, there are other options to consider too.
1) One-Punch Man
Saitama is a part-time hero who battles monsters as a hobby. Despite being relatively unknown, he’s possibly one of the most powerful heroes out there, defeating any foe with just one punch.
However, this incredible strength leaves him bored with hero work, as he longs for a challenge that can actually excite him.
One Punch Man stands out as one of the most popular superhero series. Unlike the optimism of My Hero Academia, it takes a more cynical view of hero associations and heroes themselves.
However, it’s still a hilarious satire of the superhero genre, appealing to both fans and newcomers alike.
2) My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, a teenager in a world where most people have superpowers called Quirks.
Many use their powers to become heroes. Since he was little, Izuku dreamed of being a hero like his idol, All Might. But unlike his friends and most people, Izuku doesn’t have a Quirk.
Still, he’s determined and won’t give up. Even without powers, he’s determined to attend U.A. High School, a school for future heroes.
3) World Trigger
World Trigger follows high schooler Osamu Mikumo, who leads a double life as a Border agent, defending Japan from aliens called Neighbors.
Osamu teams up with Yuma Kuga, a powerful humanoid Neighbor, and Chika, a skilled 13-year-old sniper whom Osamu is dedicated to protecting.
Together, they form a Border agent squad. Besides guarding their city from Neighbor attacks, they aim to climb the ranks swiftly to qualify for missions to the Neighbors’ world.
4) SSSS.Gridman
Yuuta Hibiki wakes up in Rikka Takarada’s room and realizes he has amnesia. He hears a voice calling his name from a nearby room and discovers a robot named Hyper Agent Gridman inside an old computer.
Rikka can’t hear Gridman or see the monsters outside. A giant monster attacks the city, causing chaos. Yuuta merges with Gridman and joins the fight.
With Rikka and their classmate Shou Utsumi, they form the “Gridman Alliance” to defeat the monsters and uncover the source behind their appearance.
5) Tiger & Bunny
45 years ago, individuals with special abilities, called NEXT, started appearing worldwide. They used their powers for heroic deeds, leading to the rise of a whole industry around them.
Heroes wear sponsored logos on their costumes and their acts of heroism are televised. The story follows a duo of heroes with identical powers, Wild Tiger and Bunny.
Tiger & Bunny offers a cynical twist on the superhero genre. It portrays superheroes in a highly corporate light, where fame and popularity take precedence over genuine heroism. Despite this, the main characters still strive to improve the world around them.
6) Love After World Domination
To combat the constant invasion by the villainous Secret Society Gekko, the Freezing Sentai Gelato 5 comes together.
Fudo Aikawa leads the team as Red Gelato, battling Gekko’s officers, like the strong and stunning Reaper Princess.
What’s unknown to both groups is that Red Gelato and the Reaper Princess have fallen for each other. They’ve turned their fights into secret dates, hidden from their societies.
Love After World Domination is a silly, enjoyable romantic comedy that doubles as a parody of the Super Sentai idea. It throws in a bit of the star-crossed lovers theme, but mainly, it’s all about the laughs and jokes.
7) Casshern Sins
In a world where robots dominate humans, a girl named Luna emerges as humanity’s hope. Braiking Boss, the robot leader, orders his toughest fighters to eliminate her.
Casshern, one of these fighters, succeeds in assassinating Luna. However, Luna’s death triggers a strange phenomenon called the ruin, causing the world to decay.
Strangely, Casshern, the one responsible for this ruin, has no memory of his actions. Casshern Sins offers a darker take on the classic superhero anime, Neo-Human Casshern.
Though it’s not your typical superhero story, it does draw on elements and tropes from that genre, shaping its storytelling and action in unique ways.
8) Zetman
Jin Kanzaki was a young guy living a tough life with his homeless grandpa. But then, he discovers he can turn into Zet, a powerful humanoid monster with super strength and skills.
As Jin starts facing off against monsters called Players, he meets Koga Amagi, a young man who fights monsters too. Koga becomes a hero called Alphas, using high-tech gear in his battles.
Zetman, a gritty superhero manga by Masakazu Katsura, stands out from his usual romantic comedy works like I”s and Video Girl Ai.
It’s a contrast, exploring darkness and violence. This darker tone makes it a great choice for fans who prefer their superhero stories with a gritty edge.
9) Samurai Flamenco
Masayoshi Hazama appears to have the perfect life as a good-looking and accomplished male model. But deep down, his real passion is to be a crime-fighting hero, just like the ones in his favorite tokusatsu shows.
He takes on the persona of the vigilante Samurai Flamenco. At first, he’s just a regular guy trying to be a hero, but everything changes when actual monsters begin threatening the public.
Samurai Flamenco is a quirky spin on the superhero tale. It begins with a more realistic vibe but gradually gets weirder as it progresses.
The characters break away from typical superhero molds, offering something fresh for those seeking a break from the usual superhero fare. Give this series a shot if you’re craving something different.
10) Mr. Villain’s Day Off
Warumono-san a big shot in the Evil League, whose job is to destroy all humans. But he’s off duty and decided to chill at Uenono Zoo, famous for its pandas. Even though he hates humans, he’s soft on pandas.
While he’s there, he bumps into a Ranger, a group fighting against the Evil League. Instead of fighting, he suggests a break and goes to get some ice cream from a nearby store.
Along the way, he meets some kids who ask him to buy ice cream for them. Little did he know, these kids were actually Rangers too, and they’re surprised to see his softer side.
11) Miss Kuroitsu From The Monster Development Department
The secret group Agastia wants to take over the world, but heroes keep getting in their way. To make a creature strong enough to beat these pesky heroes, Agastia’s Monster Development Department works tirelessly.
Despite their hard work, they haven’t succeeded yet. The department, led by Miss Kuroitsu, only has a few members. They spend their days designing monsters while dealing with their bosses’ demands.
Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department is another spoof of Japanese superhero clichés.
This anime gives us the villains’ point of view, showing how their constant attempts to defeat the heroes usually end in disaster.
12) Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman
Hiroya Matsumoto joins Raito Trading Company, hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps as a great employee.
However, he soon discovers he’s been recruited into a secretive department within the company called SHINESMAN. To battle quirky alien that are threats to Earth.
Despite their heroics, Matsumoto and his co-workers still have regular corporate duties to handle.
But when the alien race from Planet Voice, led by Prince Sasaki, attacks, they don their office-colored combat suits and transform into Shinesman Red, Sepia, Salmon Pink, Grey, and Moss Green.
13) Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
In the year 0079 of the Universal Century, the Earth Federation launches Operation Odessa to reclaim a major city from the Principality of Zeon.
The mission succeeds, scattering the remaining Zeon forces worldwide. With the upper hand in the One Year War, the Earth Federation sends its ground troops to hunt down the remaining Zeon soldiers.
Ensign Shiro Amada is reassigned to Southeast Asia to lead the 08th MS Team, a special group of RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type pilots.
During their first mission, they must distract Zeon forces while Federation troops search for a new Zeon weapon. However, Shiro encounters Aina Sahalin, an ace Zeon pilot he met before, complicating matters.
Their reunion makes Shiro question his loyalty to the Federation, forcing him to choose between his allegiance and his feelings.

The literary club was almost shut down due to not having enough members, but Shiori Sakura, the club president, managed to keep it going by bringing in three students who thought the club room was empty. Initially, one of them acted inappropriately, but the situation worsened significantly.
The other two students joined in rather than helping, leading to further misconduct, which was recorded. They continued this behavior under the guise of club activities.
