Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 8: Release Date, Recap & How To Watch

Last Updated on November 24, 2022 by OtakuKart Staff

Rick and Morty’s Season 6 Episode 8 release date is quite soon. The series throws light on an animated adult comedy series. With the episode finally coming back on the screen after a long hiatus, they have really worked on the wordplay and, with that, the science fiction, which we totally were expecting. This was one of the meta episodes where Rick and Morty get stuck in a narrative.

This world is beyond the fourth wall. Here, there are a variety of gimmicks that fall within the narrative and are alive. What we loved about this episode was the fact that they let the duo lose into the world, and they were allowed to do whatever with the narrative. Turns out that there are actually no rules in this world, and that is why Rick hates it so much because anyone can do anything as well.

We start the episode with “Previously On Rick and Morty,” where what we thought was a recap of the season. I mean, Adult Swim has never given us a recap of the series, but we have just started watching the episode after a long time, and thus it felt like this was only valid. But it was because of how a narrative gimmick from beyond the Fourth Wall called Previous Leon entered their dimension to lure the duo into their world.

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 7 Recap

Rick got to understand this when he saw things that never ever happened in the first place. Thus, we see him fighting against the same creature by breaking the narrative. As Previous Leon comes forward, they try to grab him, but he goes back to his own world. Rick thinks security is breached, and he follows as well. But well, things are about to get even weirder and Rick and Morty both enter this new dimension.

Previous Leon is caught, and he starts worshipping Jesus. Morty takes pity on the creature, but suddenly Jesus appears and beats Rick and Morty. This was all a trap set up by Story Lord, who we have seen before in season 4. Rick actually trapped him in a Bible TV show for children the last time that they had an encounter. Thus, he used the power of faith in order to escape the Neta Layer and meet with reality.

He also brought make-believe Jesus to work for him and do brutal things. Ultimately, we see that Story Lord takes Rick’s portal gun and escapes. Meanwhile, they are left off to fight for themselves against the other gimmicks in this realm, such as the Referential Six. They have powers related to the meta-universe. First is Miss Lead, and then we see Flash Back and Protago Nick. And the fifth gimmick is Plot Twist.

He is the one who takes immense pleasure in telling everyone that there are just 5 Referential Six members, and this was the twist. Too much chaos ensues until Rick and Morty are finally saved by a dead literary scholar named Joseph Campbell. He ultimately helps them, too, while dealing with Story Lord and stopping the chaos which was ensuing with him and the real world.
