How did it all begin?
Jack Kirby is amongst the greatest comic developers as Stan Lee. During his days in DC comics, he created a comic series called New Gods. New Gods had the concept of the creation of new beings, and he wanted to end the story of it, but DC comics wanted to expand it. Soon it was canceled. Kirby, after few years, joined back Marvel and came up with the idea of The Eternals. The comics started being published in July 1976 and had 4 volumes till 2009. In 2018, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, announced that the film based on Eternals is going to be their next big project for which Kaz and Ryan Firpo were hired to write the script; by late September, Chloe Zhao was hired as director.
Who are the Eternals?
Millions of years ago, there were cosmic god-like beings called The Celestials who came to earth and experimented with human DNA to create better versions. Celestials are already introduced in The Guardians of Galaxy. Two offshoots of the human race were produced; The Eternals and The Deviants. Eternals were immortal beings and were superior in every sense possible; they were immortal. At the same time, The Deviants were genetically deformed and had to hide from the human world. Eternals settled in various worlds, not just on earth. They split up. For example, some of them lived on the Saturnian moon, Titan.
Thus new civilizations begin to sprout and develop over time: Olympian, Titanian, Uranian and Polar branches of species developed. Polar and Olympians are based on earth. It is said that Eternals have control over every molecule of their bodies. They can create plasmic blasts and have various superpowers. The prime eternal has the power of blue flame through which he can create Uni-mind, a Powerful psychic entity that embodies the power of all the entities together. It requires seven Eternals to create a Uni-mind.
