Earlier, on the train to Ruin, Fay, Nel, Pearl, and Leoleashea discuss the impending Gods’ Game with the Bookmaker, during which Nel faints due to nervousness.
Upon reaching Ruin, they meet Miranda in their office and then head to the Ruin Branch’s dorms. At the Women’s Dorms, Pearl and Nel share a bonding moment over a bath, exchanging lighthearted banter about their bodies.
The following day, as they prepare to face the Bookmaker, Miranda warns them that the Godeye Lens will be ineffective in the Bookmaker’s realm, setting the stage for a challenging encounter.
In Gods’ Game We Play Episode 9, Fay and Pearl ponder whether Nel’s actions stem from instinct or fear as the intense game unfolds.
Introducing herself as ‘Gremoire, the Unstable Polymorphic God,’ she elaborates on her abilities as a mimic, shapeshifter, and doppelganger, setting the stage for the game.

With only one coin left, Nel plays cautiously in the third round, hoping for a miracle but ultimately losing again. Gremoire admonishes her for relying on luck rather than seizing opportunities.
As Nel faints from stress, Gremoire expresses disappointment and orders them to leave. However, Fay boldly declares victory and challenges Gremoire to another round, betting his remaining three wins to erase Nel’s loss.
Gremoire transforms the space into a giant roulette table, introducing the new game, ‘The Three Cheats,’ where Fay must identify the three godly cheats she employs, setting the stage for a thrilling continuation of the episode.
