Eren lived his life peaceful as a kid until the time when the wall was broken down, and a swamp of Titans rushed in to kill everyone. The victims involved Eren’s mother, who traumatized him till he got his revenge later in the series. Eren, along with his friends Mikasa and Armin, join the Scouts, which are a hunting organization of the armed forces in charge of taking down the Titans.
Reiner Braun was first introduced in the animated and manga series during the selection of the Scout Regiment among the 104th Cadet Corps. Reiner came in the top 10 ranks and made good connections with Eren and Armin.

1. Reiner Used To Give Hints That He Was The Armoured Titan.
Well, if you are new to the series, you might not have realized this, but Reiner Braun has given us plenty of hints that he is the Armoured Titan in the series. Back during the first few seasons, before Reiner revealed he was the Armoured Titan, there were times that Eren and Armin used to talk about how their lives were completely changed and screwed because of the Armoured Titan. At this moment, the looks on his face gave it all away.
Well, of course, if you are watching the anime for the first time, you might only think that Reiner is just sympathizing with Eren and Armin, but later on, you realize the truth. The truth is that Reiner, after learning that people on the island are also humans, regretted his actions as the armored titan. After this, when Armin asked why Bertholdt and Reiner wanted to be soldiers, he replied that he just wanted to go back home. It’s only after the revelation that we understand the true meaning behind that line.
2. Reiner Had Some Feelings Towards Historia
Well, this was not confirmed in both the anime and manga series, and what actually might have made a good ship was left as a dream. Well, if you are a hardcore watcher, you may remember the time when Reiner, Berthodt, Yimir, Historia, and others were trapped and had to fight the Titans without gear. At this point, Reiner got himself injured, and Historia could not bear to see it and started to tend it immediately.

3. Reiner Braun Was The AOT Writer’s Favorite Character.
If you are a writer of a masterpiece, then you are bound to have at least a few favorite characters from your creation, and for writer Hajime Isayama it is Reiner Braun. Originally Isayama was very fond of the character Jean Kirstein, but later, he came to terms with the character role of Reiner.
For Isayama, Reiner was one of the main characters who suffered a lot in the series. Though he was the one responsible for Eren’s mother’s death, all he wanted to do was go back home to his family. To date, he regrets taking up the mission and has also shown compassion toward people living on Paradis Island.
4. Reiner Had A Caring Spot For His Team In The Scouts.
Over the course of the series, Reiner Braun has gone through tremendous character development. Over the course of his journey, he was made to believe that people on the Paradis Island very spawn of pure evil. But later, when he learned about their true nature, he felt bad for them and even went on to become a great role model for them.

5. Did Everything For His Family’s Pride
After the long, long Titan war and the split between Eldians and Marleyans, there was a lot of cast difference. The Eldians used you get horribly treated by the Marleyans, almost as if they were outcasts. Amidst this came Reiners’s family, where he was not able to meet his father since birth as he was a Marleyan.
For his family to be treated right and receive the respect that he deserved, Reiner went on to become an honorary warrior for the Marleyans. Even though later in the series, we get to know that Reiner’s father still does not accept him as he has Eldian blood, the character continues to become a warrior only with one goal, that is to keep his family name amongst other Marleyans.

6. Eren Considered Reiner As A Role Model.
The series has seen many revelations and many team formations and breakups. But one sad moment was Eren being heartbroken by his own role model. Yes! Eren considered Reiner as his role model since the time he met him. The character looked up to Reiner as his greatest hero until the time he learned about the truth that he was one of the reasons his mother met her end.
Since then, Eren has come to terms with the world and himself. He now finds himself similar to that Reiner, as he feels like he has suffered as much as Reiner had.
7. Reiner Braun Had A Family Member In Paradis?
Well, it’s not confirmed, but there are chances that Reiner had someone of his family tree in the Paradis. Apart from this, it could also be said that Reiner may be responsible for many of his family members’ death on the island. Here’s an instance that proves the point.
At the beginning of the series, when Eren and Mikasa were coming back home, they viewed the scouts coming back from their campaign but had many soldiers missing from the group. Among them, there was a soldier called Moses Braun, who could not make it back. It is believed that he might be some kind of relative to Reiner.
8. Reiner Was One Of The First Few To Know Zeke Was Eren’s Brother
Attack on Titan had many revelations, but one of the most important and shocking ones was that Zeke was Eren’s brother. But this one fact was known to a few more before Eren learned the truth. In the series, Reiner Berthodt were accompanied by Zeke, and there he might have revealed the truth about Eren’s origin.
9. Reiner, Annie, And Pieck Were The Only Ones Who Had Their Titans With Them Till The End
Over the course of the series, there were many Titans shifts from the Attack Titan to the War Hammer Titan. To start off, the powers of the Founding Titan and Attack Titan were forwarded by Grisha Yeager to Eren Yeager. The Jaw Titan was shifted from Marcel to Ymir after she ate him. Later on, the Jaw Titan was given back to Marleyans.
The War hammer Titan was taken by Eren after he defeated Willy Tybur’s unnamed sister. Zeke became the Beast Titan after eating Tom. Among all of them, only Reiner, Annie and Peck, were the ones who inherited the Armoured, Female, and Cart Titan respectively, and never got their powers stolen or taken from them.
10. Reiner Replaced Someone To Take Part In The Paradis Mission
Marleyans had set out on a mission to discover the Founding Titan and bring it under their control. For this, they used 4 children with Titan powers to get onto the island and start their search.
Under this plan, the original 4 kids chosen were Bertholdt, who was the Colossal Titan, Annie, who was the Female Titan, Marcel, who was the Jaw Titan, and Marcel’s younger brother Porco who was going to be the Armoured Titan. In order to save his brother from the gruesome fate set for them, Marcel urged Marleyans to make Reiner the Armoured Titan. And so, Reiner was sent on the mission, and this is how his journey began.
