Hey everyone! Salim here, and today I’m going to be discussing the newly integrated Buddy System in Pokémon Go. Lets begin!
Now this is coming from myself and other local Pokémon Go players in the community that also participate in the game. After testing the system with multiple Pokémon to see how many km needed to walk to earn 1 candy, I’ve come to this conclusion. Is it really worth just 1 candy?!
Currently I’m using it on Pokémon such as Charmander and other rare Pokémon; anything that’s not common and its seems ridiculous just to receive only 1 candy from walking 3km. Even though this is just the beginning for this new feature, it seems Niantic is still wanting people to REALLY grind for those candies in order to get those evolutions down for your Pokedex and Roster. Now, some people will say others are lazy and if the feature will only help you if you’re willing to put in the work. Well in my situation for example, there are absolutely NO Charmanders in my region. I only have 1 Charmander because I chose it as my starter. It takes exactly 125 candies for me to evolve Charmander into a Charizard. If I do the math (which I wont), its going to take me a VERY VERY VERY long time before I see a Charizard, let alone a Charmeleon. At the rate I’m going, I’m only receiving 1 candy for walking 3 km, while also hoping I get a Charmander from a 2km Egg.
