Surrounded by common Pokemon? Here’s how to capitalize on the candy!
A redditor named Elhessar recently posted his tip on how to get the most candy out of jigglypuff
As tons of you know, Wigglytuff is Pokemon who can be used to Attack or defend and is also known for beating Pokemon such as Snorlax with ease. Some trainers have trouble obtaining a wigglytuff and others are surrounded with nothing but Jigglypuff and Drowzee such as Elhessar, which brought him to creating this simple method for candy saving.
The method is very simple for an evolution that requires 12 candies, you should evolve 6.7% of the pokemon obtained with IVs of 25/45 (corresponding to 55.6% IV perfection). Any Pokemon with IV higher than that should be evolved as well.
Pokemon less than this minimum will obviously be transferred for more candy, please note that everyone’s adventure is different so not everyone will be getting hit with a ton of common Pokemon.
He’s created a simple table of rules that can be translated for Pokemon that require larger scales of candy.
You will not run out of candies if you evolve:
- Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 57% if it requires 12 candies to evolve;
- Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 68% if it requires 25 candies to evolve;
- Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 77% if it requires 50 candies to evolve;
- Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 79% if it requires 12+50 candies to evolve;
- Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 83% if it requires 25+100 candies to evolve;
Every Pokemon that you catch with IV ≥ 90% if it requires 400 candies to evolve.
For this list, obviously any Pokemon below the minimum IV requirement would be transferred instantly as mentioned earlier.
When storing candies it’s best to save them in bulk, the reason why you would save them in bulk is due to the Lucky eggs we have available. If you save tons of candy for one Lucky egg then you’ll get double the amount of XP for all of those Pokemon you just evolved.
I would also suggest transferring Pokemon with terrible move sets as these move sets do matter in the long run.
