TOUGEN ANKI is returning with a new chapter this fall as the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc prepares to premiere on October 2, 2026. REMOW confirmed the Season 2 continuation on September 19 alongside a new key visual, an English trailer, and three additions to the anime’s voice cast. The upcoming arc follows the events of the Kyoto and Nerima Arcs and sends Shiki Ichinose and his fellow students toward a dangerous new location where the conflict between the Oni and Momotaro factions takes an even darker turn.
The new TOUGEN ANKI season will also be preceded by two special recap episodes. The Kyoto Arc recap will air on September 30, followed by the Nerima Arc recap on October 1, giving viewers an opportunity to revisit the story before the new episodes begin. The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc will then expand the series’ conflict by introducing a disturbing research facility and three new characters voiced by Kenichi Suzumura, Yuki Kaji, and Kisho Taniyama.
TOUGEN ANKI Season 2 Takes Shiki to Kegon Falls
The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc begins after Shiki and the other students at Rasetsu Academy survive the intense battles in Kyoto and Nerima. As the group continues developing their abilities, Ikari Yaoroshi rejects Naito Mudano’s teachings about the importance of friendship and instead becomes drawn to Oni Brigade General Hayate Todoroki’s extreme belief in completely eradicating the Momotaro.
Shiki discovers that the Oni Brigade’s ideology extends beyond fighting its enemies, with even noncombatants becoming potential targets. Determined to stop Yaoroshi, Shiki joins Mudano and the other students in pursuing him.
Their journey takes them to Nikko, where Kegon Falls has mysteriously stopped flowing. A huge research facility has subsequently been constructed at the location, but the building hides a disturbing secret. Horrific experiments involving Oni are being conducted inside the facility, setting up another dangerous confrontation for Shiki and his allies.
The new storyline continues TOUGEN ANKI’s reinterpretation of the traditional Momotaro legend. In the anime’s world, Oni and Momotaro bloodlines have existed for generations, eventually leading to the creation of the Oni Agency and Momotaro Agency. The two factions have remained locked in conflict for thousands of years.
Shiki becomes caught in this war after discovering that he has inherited Oni blood. His journey to understand his powers and the Oni within him forms the foundation of the series’ dark supernatural storyline.
Kenichi Suzumura, Yuki Kaji and Kisho Taniyama Join the Cast
The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc will introduce three new characters connected to the Momotaro Agency’s Kegon Falls Branch Laboratory.
Kenichi Suzumura joins as Kusabi Momoura, the chief of the laboratory. Kusabi is described as a cruel and cold-hearted researcher who considers Oni to be nothing more than material for human experimentation.
Yuki Kaji will voice Hizumi Momotsugi, the captain of the laboratory’s 10th Unit. Despite Kusabi’s unpredictable behavior confusing other members of the Momotaro Agency, Hizumi remains completely loyal to his superior. He is also identifiable by a scar at the right corner of his mouth where the skin peels away.
Kisho Taniyama takes on the role of Senritsu Momoo, vice-captain of the laboratory’s 3rd Unit. Senritsu possesses the ability to manipulate his voice and has a strong passion for singing and music, adding another unusual ability to the growing cast of TOUGEN ANKI characters.
The anime’s returning cast includes Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, Koutaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki, Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura, Shogo Sakata as Ikari Yaoroshi, and Natsuki Hanae as Juji Yusurube.

TOUGEN ANKI: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc premieres October 2, 2026, at 25:00 JST, meaning the broadcast falls at 1:00 a.m. JST on October 3. International and regional release times can vary depending on the platform and country.
The anime will be available through a wide range of services, including Netflix, Crunchyroll and Amazon Prime Video, alongside Rakuten Viki, It’s Anime on YouTube, Anime Generation, Aniverse, ADN and other regional platforms.

Based on Yura Urushibara’s manga, which has surpassed 6.5 million copies in circulation, TOUGEN ANKI originally began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in 2020. The anime is directed by Ato Nonaka, with Yukie Sugawara handling series composition and screenplay. Studio HIBARI is responsible for animation production, while KOHTA YAMAMOTO provides the music.
The upcoming season will feature “BACKLASH” by Hiromitsu Kitayama as its opening theme and “Hand in Hand” by TRACK15 as its ending theme. With the new characters, recap broadcasts and increasingly dangerous conflict surrounding the Kegon Falls laboratory, TOUGEN ANKI Season 2 is positioned to push Shiki’s story into another major stage when the new arc begins in October.
