Tom Holland could be in line for one of the biggest superhero paydays in Hollywood history following the extraordinary box office performance of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to a report from TheWrap, people familiar with Holland’s deal say the actor received a base salary of at least $20 million for playing Peter Parker.
That figure would already represent a significant increase over his reported compensation for Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, the more notable part of Holland’s reported agreement is the backend structure, which could take his total earnings beyond the $100 million mark as the movie continues its theatrical run.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Pay Could Pass $100 Million
According to the report, Holland’s contract includes substantial performance-based bonuses tied to the movie’s success. One source familiar with the agreement reportedly said,
“He will make at least” $100 million, although the final amount could be considerably higher.
TheWrap also reports that Holland’s backend compensation is not capped, meaning there is no publicly disclosed ceiling on how much he could ultimately receive if Brand New Day continues generating significant theatrical revenue.

Sony Pictures and Holland’s representatives have not publicly confirmed the reported terms. As a result, the figures should be treated as reported compensation estimates rather than officially disclosed salary details.
The reported deal arrives after Holland’s decade-long rise as the MCU’s Peter Parker. He first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 before starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home and several Avengers films.
Brand New Day’s Box Office Success Drives the Payday
The potential windfall is closely connected to Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s extraordinary theatrical performance. The Destin Daniel Cretton-directed movie opened with a record-breaking $360 million domestic weekend, surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s previous record for the biggest domestic opening.
The film also generated approximately $927 million worldwide during its opening weekend, giving it one of the biggest global launches in cinema history.
Its momentum continued after opening weekend. Brand New Day crossed $1 billion worldwide after only six days, becoming the second-fastest film to reach the milestone behind Avengers: Endgame.
Sony’s official website confirms that Holland leads the film’s cast alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal, with Cretton directing from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Holland’s Reported Earnings Reflect Spider-Man’s Continued Success
The reported $20 million upfront salary demonstrates how much Holland’s value has increased since his first MCU appearance. His ability to anchor a successful Spider-Man franchise has also given him considerably more negotiating power than he had when he initially joined Marvel’s cinematic universe.
With Brand New Day continuing its theatrical run and its reported backend deal remaining uncapped, Holland’s final compensation could ultimately exceed the already remarkable $100 million estimate. For now, neither Sony nor the actor has publicly confirmed the precise structure of his contract.
