Actors Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom are officially set to headline the new SBS drama, “Shin Yi Rang’s Law Firm” (literal translation).
This project promises a unique and imaginative twist on the conventional legal drama by incorporating strong supernatural elements, following two attorneys who solve cases for a very particular clientele: ghosts.
The series is described as a quirky yet warm adventure that uses the law to resolve the lingering grievances of highly unusual clients.
The Haunted Attorney: Shin Yi Rang
Yoo Yeon Seok will take on the lead role of Shin Yi Rang, the eponymous attorney. His character’s life takes an unexpected turn after he opens his law office in a building that was once used by a shaman, causing him to gain the ability to see ghosts.
While he may appear reliable and put-together on the surface, he is actually quite timid and a bit clumsy.
However, his sense of determination becomes unwavering when he takes on a ghost client with a tragic, unresolved story.

Shin Yi Rang’s character has a particularly intriguing narrative hook: a “possession phenomenon.”
In this quirk of fate, the unique traits, memories, and even abilities of his ghost clients temporarily seep into his body.
This results in unpredictable changes, transforming his personality and demeanor, regardless of the client’s age or gender.
This “possession advocacy” allows him to experience the deceased clients’ perspectives firsthand, becoming a crucial tool for uncovering clues at the heart of each case.

The Ace with a Cold Exterior: Han Na Hyun
Esom is cast as Han Na Hyun, an elite attorney who operates in a completely different realm of the legal world. She is an ace at a major law firm and boasts an enviable 100 percent win rate.
For Han Na Hyun, winning is the sole measure of success, fueling a cold, relentless, and highly logical work style that has placed her at the very top of the industry.
Her path initially puts her on a collision course with Shin Yi Rang, whom she completely dismisses for claiming he can see ghosts.
Her cold exterior and focus on tangible legal success clash directly with his supernatural advocacy.
However, the story will chart her transformation as she experiences an unexpected loss at Shin Yi Rang’s hands, forcing her to confront his sincerity and the strange events unfolding before her eyes.
The narrative promises to gradually reveal the emotional wounds hidden behind her cool professionalism, allowing her to regain layers of warmth and empathy.
The Exhilarating Chemistry of Logic and the Occult
The central appeal of “Shin Yi Rang’s Law Firm” lies in the exhilarating teamwork and chemistry between these two fundamentally different attorneys.

Their unique strengths create a powerful and innovative method for seeking justice:
- Shin Yi Rang’s Role: He uses his possession ability to hear the ghost clients directly, absorbing their memories and emotions to uncover vital, often hidden, clues.
- Han Na Hyun’s Role: She applies her sharp judgment, logical reasoning, and expertise in law to interpret and fit those supernatural clues into a viable legal framework.
The production team emphasized this unique dynamic, calling it an “unexpected three-way collaboration” between the possession-enabled Shin Yi Rang, the sharp-minded Han Na Hyun, and the individual ghost clients, each carrying their own complex stories.
They praised Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom as the “perfect actors to bring this to life 200 percent,” predicting that the drama will open a “new chapter of divinely entertaining storytelling” for SBS’s courtroom drama lineup.
“Shin Yi Rang’s Law Firm” is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2026, promising a refreshing blend of laughter, thrill, and heartfelt moments as the two attorneys, once on opposite sides, join forces to pursue the truth for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
