Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3, setting the stage for a major conflict across Middle-earth as Sauron moves closer to forging the One Ring. Released on October 21, 2026, the trailer previews a darker chapter for the fantasy series, with the Dark Lord preparing to consolidate his power while the remaining free peoples struggle to resist his armies.
“All of it has come to this,”
Galadriel declares in the trailer, reflecting the growing stakes as Sauron’s ambitions threaten the survival of Middle-earth. The footage showcases battles, political unrest, fractured alliances, and the emergence of terrifying Ring-servants known as the Nazgnagôl.
The upcoming season will continue the series’ exploration of Middle-earth’s Second Age, bringing its central conflict closer to the creation of the One Ring. With several kingdoms facing destruction and Sauron pursuing absolute domination, the remaining heroes must find a way to unite before it is too late.
The Rings of Power Season 3 Trailer Reveals Sauron’s Expanding Threat
Season 3 takes place five years after the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s forces have conquered vast territories, leaving only a handful of strongholds capable of resisting his advance. Khazad-dûm remains a major refuge for the Dwarves, while the Elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell rely on the protection of their Three Rings.
Meanwhile, Sauron works relentlessly inside his newly completed tower of Barad-dûr in Mordor. His ultimate objective is to harness the power of the One Ring, which could allow him to bring his remaining enemies under his control.
The trailer also introduces the Nazgnagôl, Sauron’s terrifying Ring-servants, who roam Middle-earth in black armor. Their presence signals the growing danger facing the kingdoms that have yet to fall.
The threat extends beyond Sauron’s military campaign. The Elves struggle to maintain their defensive lines, while tensions within Khazad-dûm threaten to weaken the Dwarves from within. These conflicts could undermine the cooperation needed to confront the Dark Lord.
On the island kingdom of Númenor, competing political factions push the realm toward civil war. The internal division creates another obstacle for those hoping to unite Middle-earth against Sauron.

Farther east, Gandalf turns to magic and persuasion in Rhûn as he attempts to influence the coming conflict. His efforts could prove important as the forces resisting Sauron search for allies and a way to change the course of the war.
The third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Prime Video on November 11, 2026, with its first four episodes releasing together.
The next two episodes, 305 and 306, arrive on November 18, followed by the final two episodes on November 25. This release schedule brings the eight-episode season to its conclusion before the end of November.
J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay return as showrunners and executive producers. The series continues to explore the mythology of Middle-earth’s Second Age, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Both previous seasons, comprising 16 episodes, are available exclusively on Prime Video. Viewers can watch them ahead of the third season’s premiere to revisit the events leading to Sauron’s growing influence and the approaching creation of the One Ring.
