Hulu has officially renewed Furious for Season 2, giving the crime thriller another chapter just days before its first-season finale. The renewal was announced on August 27, 2026, ahead of the Season 1 finale scheduled for August 31.
Created by Elizabeth Meriwether, the series stars Emmy Rossum as FBI agent Alice Black and Lola Petticrew as Catherine Grace, a mysterious serial killer. The story follows Alice’s investigation into Catherine while gradually exploring the complicated connection between the two women and their different ideas of justice.
Hulu Confirms Furious Season 2
The biggest question surrounding Furious has now been answered. Hulu has decided to continue the series rather than wait for the first season to conclude before announcing its future.
The decision comes at an important point in the show’s run. Furious premiered with three episodes on July 27 before moving to a weekly release schedule. The final episode of the eight-episode first season is set to arrive on August 31.
The streaming giant has not yet revealed a Season 2 release date, episode count or detailed plot. The streamer has also not confirmed the complete returning cast beyond the information currently available.
Strong Viewership Helped the Thriller Earn Another Season
One major reason behind the renewal appears to be the show’s growing audience. The series also recorded 372 million minutes viewed during the week of its July 27 debut and reached No. 10 on Nielsen’s original series streaming chart.
The show has also performed well with critics. Disney’s official press information reports that Furious launched with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and currently holds a 98% critics rating.
That combination of audience growth and critical support gave Hulu a strong reason to continue the series.
Elizabeth Meriwether Already Wanted More Stories
The renewal also matches comments from creator Elizabeth Meriwether. In an interview with TheWrap (source), Meriwether explained that she wanted the series to leave room for future stories.
“I’m hoping that we get more seasons of Furious.”
Meriwether also compared the show’s potential future to Law & Order: SVU, suggesting that Alice and the other characters could continue dealing with different cases rather than being limited to one storyline.
