The upcoming The Fake Alchemist anime has received its first teaser trailer, giving fans their first proper look at the highly anticipated adaptation of Jiro Sugiura and Umemaru’s manga. KADOKAWA released the trailer on September 25, 2026, alongside new details about the anime’s main cast and production staff.
The teaser focuses on the first meeting between Paracelsus and Nora in the city-state of Orichalconia, a fantasy setting where alchemy and magic are deeply integrated into everyday life. The series is being produced by Studio Passione, with the newly revealed footage offering an early glimpse at how the acclaimed manga is being brought to television.
The Fake Alchemist began as an indie sensation before its commercial manga edition surpassed 1 million copies in print in Japan. The series was first announced for a TV anime adaptation in June 2026.
The Fake Alchemist Anime Reveals Main Cast and Staff
The production has confirmed Yohei Matsuoka as the voice of Paracelsus, while Miyari Nemoto will voice Nora.
Takeo Takahashi, known for his work on Spice and Wolf and Ishura, serves as Chief Director, with Hijiri Sanpei directing. The remaining main staff includes Kenta Ihara handling series composition, Yuka Takashina as character designer, and Luke Standridge composing the music.

The teaser follows the anime’s original announcement in June, which included a commemorative trailer showing Nora’s visual evolution from Sugiura’s original sketches to Umemaru’s manga artwork and finally Studio Passione’s anime adaptation.
What Is The Fake Alchemist About?
The story follows Paracelsus, a reincarnated alchemist living in Orichalconia while concealing his powerful “cheat skills.” His life takes an unexpected turn after he enters into a contract with Nora, a shaman slave-girl.
Paracelsus later encounters Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and her five senses. What initially begins as an attempt to save Coco from a small workshop eventually develops into a much larger conflict involving alchemy, sorcery, space and even the gods.
The English manga is published by Yen Press, with Volumes 1 and 2 currently available.
