Minori Fujidera Shares Her Thoughts on Playing Rina
Rina is described as a hardworking and determined girl who continues to give her best despite growing up in Falltown, a town devastated by destruction. Although she appears young, she has a strong will and fights with a sword while keeping her magical potential hidden.
Fujidera expressed her enthusiasm for the role, saying,
“Rina is a kindhearted, sincere, and hardworking girl who always gives her best.”
She added that portraying the character’s development was a joy and that she put considerable care into bringing Rina to life.
The voice actress also praised the dynamic between Asley and Pochi, describing their exchanges as being like a comedy duo. Her comments highlight the series’ blend of fantasy adventure and humor.
Original character designer Kurihito Muto and manga adaptation artist Fuh Araki have also shared celebratory messages about the anime. Muto said he was excited to see Asley and Pochi’s humorous interactions alongside other characters, including Rina, Aileen, Warren, and members of Silver.
Araki expressed excitement about seeing the characters he had drawn for the manga brought to life through animation, voices, and movement.
The anime is based on Hifumi’s light novel series, published by Earth Star Entertainment under its Earth Star Novel label. Studio Elle is handling animation, with Keisuke Onishi directing, Kurasumi Sunayama overseeing series composition and scripts, and Yumiko Mizuno designing the characters. Yuri Habuka is composing the music.
The story follows Asley, who gains an ageless body after accidentally creating the Eternity Elixir. He spends 5,000 years studying magic, eventually mastering ancient spells, before setting out on a journey with Pochi, his 800-year-old canine familiar. Their adventure takes an unexpected turn when Asley stops to help someone along the way.
Toshiyuki Toyonaga voices Asley, Yoko Hikasa plays Pochi, and Minori Fujidera joins them as Rina. The anime premieres in Japan and streams on Crunchyroll in January 2027. Further updates for international viewers will be shared through the series’ official X account.
