BLACKPINK Fans Torn Over Alleged Leaks and the Bebe Rexha Mystery

The fandom is divided over whether these "spoilers" represent a thrilling new direction or a disappointing departure from the group's classic sound.

The K-pop world is currently in a state of high-octane anticipation and internal conflict as BLACKPINK prepares for the release of their third mini-album, “DEADLINE,” officially scheduled to drop on February 27, 2026.

While the announcement of their first group project in over three years initially sent BLINKs into a frenzy of excitement, the mood has shifted toward a “heated clash” following a series of alleged tracklist leaks and rumors of a controversial Western collaboration.

According to reports from The Financial Express and various social media platforms, the fandom is divided over whether these “spoilers” represent a thrilling new direction or a disappointing departure from the group’s classic sound.

The Bebe Rexha “Fit For” Leak: Fact or Friction?

The most significant point of contention within the fandom centers on American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha.

Rumors of a collaboration have been circulating for months, fueled by a cryptic Instagram post from Rexha captioned “Bebe in your area,” a direct nod to BLACKPINK’s iconic catchphrase.

However, the situation reached a boiling point when a song titled “Fit For”- credited to both Bebe Rexha and BLACKPINK- was reportedly registered on music copyright databases like ASCAP and KOMCA.

For many fans, the leak was a “not-so-subtle hint” at what was to come, yet the reaction was surprisingly polarized.

On one side, some netizens expressed disapproval, with one viral tweet stating, “No thanks” and others claiming the singer wasn’t “famous” enough to match BLACKPINK’s global stature.

Conversely, supporters pointed to Rexha’s pedigree as a hit songwriter, with one fan arguing:

“bebe rexha is an insanely talented songwriter… this is a cute collab and i hope we get a bop.”

Despite the fervor, the recently revealed official tracklist for DEADLINE notably lacks any mention of a feature, leading to speculation that the song may have been “put in the vault last minute” or was intended for a different project.

The “DEADLINE” Tracklist: “The Leaks Were Real!”

When YG Entertainment officially unveiled the tracklist for the mini-album on February 5, 2026, social media erupted with a mixture of shock and validation.

The list confirmed that the album would consist of five tracks: “JUMP” (the previously released hardstyle/Eurodance single), the lead title track “GO,” and three new songs titled “Me and My,” “Champion,” and the provocatively titled “Fxxxboy.” Upon seeing the confirmation, many fans on X (formerly Twitter) exclaimed:

“the leaks were real!” referring to setlist spoilers from the group’s recently concluded world tour of the same name.

While the familiarity of the tracks provided a sense of relief for some, others expressed frustration at the length of the project. One disappointed fan wrote:

“Seems like they’re trying to shock more than actually make good music,” specifically citing the small number of tracks after a three-year hiatus.

Another netizen added,

“I’m fine with no collabs… but I still pretend to have some hope” for more group content, highlighting the exhaustion some feel toward YG’s “quality over quantity” strategy.

Cultural Heritage and the Museum Collaboration

While the fandom battles over tracklists and features, YG Entertainment has moved to heighten the “sophistication” of the comeback through a massive, first-of-its-kind cultural partnership.

To celebrate the release of DEADLINE, the group will launch a collaborative project with the National Museum of Korea from February 27 to March 8.

The museum’s exterior and outdoor plaza will be illuminated in pink lighting, and the members have recorded an audio guide for select artifacts.

“I hope to be a group that is meaningful to all of you,” Rosé stated during the emotional finale of their world tour, and this museum partnership seems to be the embodiment of that goal.

Despite the clashes over spoilers, the scale of this collaboration- featuring Jisoo and Jennie narrating in Korean, Rosé in English, and Lisa in Thai- proves that BLACKPINK remains a “world-class act” capable of merging pop culture with national heritage.

As the February 27 deadline approaches, the only certainty is that the “DEADLINE” era will be one of the group’s most discussed and scrutinized periods to date.
