Even before the show began, there was a noticeable young adult literature vibe that could help it connect with younger audiences who shipped the sequel trilogy cast.
Following last week’s nod to those who enjoyed the prequels’ fast-paced lightsaber battles, this development feels well-earned within and outside the show’s narrative.
Additionally, Qimir claims he was a Jedi betrayed by his master, seemingly dismissing theories of his Sith past. He emphasizes that he never identified as a Sith in the traditional sense, suggesting the Jedi label anyone who diverges from their strict views on the Force as Sith.
It’s also worth noting series creator Leslye Headland’s comments on the brief use of Kylo Ren’s musical theme in last week’s episode: “It is there on purpose, but I can’t tell you why, and I can’t go into what it is. But you shall see.”
