Terminator Zero (Production I.G)

Terminator Zero is an upcoming anime set to release on Netflix on August 29, with Production I.G and Skydance Television collaborating on the project.

Directed by Masashi Kudo and overseen by showrunner Mattson Tomlin, the series will consist of eight episodes.

A new red band trailer was recently revealed at Anime NYC, accompanied by a special visual that was distributed as a poster to fans attending the event.

The anime’s story is deeply rooted in the Terminator franchise, blending futuristic action with intense storytelling.

The plot of TERMINATOR ZERO centers around the ongoing battle between humanity and the AI known as Skynet, which became self-aware in 1997 and initiated a war against human survivors.

The plot shifts between 1997 and 2022, where a soldier is sent back in time to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is on the brink of launching a new AI system meant to rival Skynet.

As the scientist grapples with the ethical dilemmas of his creation, a relentless assassin from the future threatens the lives of his family, leading to a high-stakes battle for the future of humanity.

The English voice cast features notable actors such as Timothy Olyphant as The Terminator, Andre Holland as Malcolm, and Rosario Dawson as Kokoro, among others.

The series is scheduled to premiere on August 29, a date symbolically linked to the Terminator franchise as Judgment Day, when Skynet was predicted to gain self-awareness and trigger the destruction of humanity.

Fans of the original films can expect a thrilling and dramatic continuation of the story, reimagined in anime form.
